The party of small Govt does it again...

Because in conservative areas, the public wants to destroy teachers
Horse shit. We just want them to be clear on who sets the agenda. They are employees of the county/city.

In union states (like say IL) the teacher unions set the agenda and that's no way to run a railroad and given how they suck it seems that I am correct.

But hell, I advocate for parents to make the sacrifices necessary and pull their kids out of all public schools and put them in private school.

Now the Repubs are dictating by law how people pay their bills.

Wah.

Can someone explain how this is a Conservative thing to do?

Why was the government withholding money from paychecks for union dues?
You’re asking tough and fair questions.

Libs will commence to crying, whining, bitching, moaning, groaning and carping in three … two … one ….

Try for clarity.

Why is what — exactly — a conservative thing to do?

Why would it be anything but conservative to allow employees to decide whether or not they wish to pay union dues?

Why is it the Govt's job to dictate such things?

Is this what you consider small government?

Is this what you consider the actions of a conservative?

Why is it the Govt's job to dictate such things?

Why is it the Govt's job to send money to the union?

Is this what you consider small government?

Yes, the government that's doing less is smaller. Plus, fuck the teacher's union.

Is this what you consider the actions of a conservative?

A conservative would outlaw public employee unions.

First Amendment protects two types of associative freedom

There are two types of freedom of association: the right to expressive association and the right to intimate association.

Additionally, the First Amendment protects a right to associate and a right not to associate together.

Freedom of Association.

So often we find so many who are no fan of the Constitution.

Sometimes even liberals outlaw public employee unions. Like in that deep blue liberal wasteland: New York State.

Well, ok. Not exactly right. The Taylor Law in NY allows for public employee unions — BUT forbids public employees from striking. And the threat of a strike is the big weapon any union has.

I don’t like to align myself with the policies of liberal state governments very much. But I do agree with The Taylor Law. I’m still glad I moved out of NY, all the same. 👍

Is outlawing a certain way to pay a bill a a conservative thing to do?

Is the government removing options of how to pay a bill a a conservative thing to do?

Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida signed a bill into law Tuesday that will require teachers who want to be in unions to mail in written checks every month.

It really has nothing to do with conservative or liberal. It's just a fact that many of us don't pay attention to our money when it's automatically deducted from our paychecks.

The late Rush Limbaugh promoted the same thing with taxes. He said if people had to physically write checks to the government every quarter like he does, they'd come to realize just how much was being taken from them and how little they are getting for it. It's different when you actually have your money in your own hands and then forced to give it away than it is when you don't see it in the first place.

Why is it the Govt's job to send money to the union?

The Govt is just acting as an intermediary. No different than when a government employee uses an allotment to pay their mortgage or put money into a savings account.

These things are very common.

Yes, the government that's doing less is smaller. Plus, fuck the teacher's union.

The Govt is doing more, they are removing choices from the citizens.

A conservative would outlaw public employee unions.

A conservative would never outlaw the right of people to gather together.

Fuck public sector unions. Destroying them is holy work. Good job in Florida, per usual.

It is a big government vs smaller government thing. Big government dictates how you can do things, smaller government allows you to decide how you want to do it

Not anymore.

The Govt is doing more, they are removing choices from the citizens.

The citizens can choose to pay directly, or not pay at all.

A conservative would never outlaw the right of people to gather together.

Gather all you want. No public employee unions.
