The media and the sheeple

Has it occurred to Conservatives and Liberals here that both media outlets are simply using their audience for profit, and have little interest in their viewers or America? I've watched Fox News and CNN for years, and can honestly say they are both about as "fair and balanced" as a nest of scorpions. Yes, they both have guests with opposing views, but look carefully and you'll see neither opposing guest get's to finish their thoughts, before they are cut off, interrupted, and not allowed to finish (Anderson Cooper and Tucker Carlson are the worst offenders) These media groups fan the flames of division and distrust all to drive up their ratings and make a profit. Maybe it's time for both conservatives and liberals to cut the cord, cut these media giants off at the pocket books, and start thinking for themselves, rather than letting their media outlets do their thinking for them.

P.S. Maybe spending that TV time learning a musical instrument, or taking some online math classes would make us a bit less angry at each other.
