Yup.

Contrary to what many of opur resident Randians currently hold as true, cooperation is as much a driver of progress as survival of the fittest.

When a society of self actualizing RANDIANS encounters a society which has a strong SOCAL CONTRACT and interpersonaly unity, the Randian society is going to get CREAMED.

There is no such thing as a SUCCESSFUL society based on the concept that selfishness is a virtue.

There are plenty of successful PEOPLE with that POV, of course, but they are basically parasitic members of society as a whole.

Now they very well may end up running that society (mostly for their benefit, too) but it is then in their interests to insure that most of the people in that society eschew that GREED IS GOOD philosophy such that the society doesn't fall apart.


So let me recap thisd theory because I understand this is a tad confusing.

It is perfectly NORMAL if the ELITE thinks selfishness is a virtue. In fact that is typically the case.

But the non-elite must be convinced that SELFISHNESS is a social disease, otherwise the whole of society is always ONLY out for itself to the detriment of the rest of society.

And no society made up of people who view all others as TARGETS to be exploited is going to last very long.
