No conundrum, merely an explanation of the nature of 'faith'.

"Reality" is what people believe it to be.

In its simplest form, Faith is a cognizant and rational belief in something without proof. If a rational cognizant person requires proof or evidence to sustain a belief, then Faith to that person, just will never make sense.
 
My parents had faith, and they taught it to me.

I do not know if I would have faith had I been born in an atheist family.
