The 2012 election will be one of the most polarized and critical elections in recent history.
Lets cut to the chase. The November 2012 elections will be unlike anything that any of us can remember. It is not just that this will be a close election. It is also not just that the direction of Congress hangs in the balance. Rather, this will be one of the most polarized and critical elections in recent history.
Unfortunately what too few leftists and progressives have been prepared to accept is that the polarization is to a great extent centered on a revenge-seeking white supremacy; on race and the racial implications of the moves to the right in the US political system. It is also focused on a re-subjugation of women, harsh burdens on youth and the elderly, increased war dangers, and reaction all along the line for labor and the working class. No one on the left with any good sense should remain indifferent or stand idly by in the critical need to defeat Republicans this year.

Why hasn't Mittens come out the gate leaps and bounds AHEAD of Obama in the polls?
If this election is such a shoe-in, if Obama has been doing so badly, Mittens should be LEAPS and BOUNDS AHEAD of Obama.
Why has Mint Raw Money been spending TWICE the amount of money on his campaign than Obama has been just to maintain a steady SECOND place?
What's really going on?
The 2012 election is about the direction of the nation. Even obama knows it. He even says it. Will we return to the principles of a Constitutional Republic or go forward into socialism?
See, thats the real cost of George W. Bushs magical thinking. By any rational accounting, Bush and the GOP Congress that gave him everything he wanted from 2001 to 2007 should be held responsible for the entire $10.6 trillion national debt along with the $1.3 trillion yearly deficit they handed to Obama, as well as the Wall Street crisis and bank bailouts.
Its that simple: With no Bush income tax cuts, no unfunded Medicare drug benefit, and no off-budget Iraq and Afghanistan wars, the U.S. balance sheet would have been in fine shape for his successor. Then government investment needed to rescue the economy from the doldrums wouldnt have seemed so alarming.
Instead, heeding Dick Cheneys observation that Reagan proved deficits dont matter, the Bush administration topped-up Scrooge McDucks bullion pool. Now Scrooge funds think tanks paying store-bought scholars to argue that the massive debt they created is all the Democrats fault for seducing grandma with socialist schemes like Medicare and Social Security.
So long as he can keep people's eyes crossed and forgetting that people who graduated from college 2 or 3 years ago still may not have a job yet.The 2012 election is about the direction of the nation.
