Texas Elector Spits on His Fellow Texans

He'll be taken care of, just like the rest of the scum.

Unfortunately we do have some assholes in this country, his pathetic actions are meaningless and his days as an elector are numbered.

There are probably lots more examples of mental instability out there in the psychotic disappointed left. Let's hope they are able to access professional help before it's too late.

What act of perjury did he commit?

Promising to honor the election results of his state.
There is no Constitutional provision or Federal law that requires Electors to vote according to the results of the popular vote in their states. Some states, however, require Electors to cast their votes according to the popular vote. These pledges fall into two categories—Electors bound by state law and those bound by pledges to political parties.
U. S. Electoral College: Who Are the Electors? How Do They Vote?

The U.S. Supreme Court has held that the Constitution does not require that Electors be completely free to act as they choose and therefore, political parties may extract pledges from electors to vote for the parties' nominees. Some state laws provide that so-called "faithless Electors" may be subject to fines or may be disqualified for casting an invalid vote and be replaced by a substitute elector. The Supreme Court has not specifically ruled on the question of whether pledges and penalties for failure to vote as pledged may be enforced under the Constitution. No Elector has ever been prosecuted for failing to vote as pledged.

Anyone who references "Star Wars" as a reason for a particular behavior in the real world is mad as a hatter.

"Article II, section 1 of the Constitution gives states the rights to select their electors as they please, including a right to require party and candidate loyalty, and the concomitant authority to strip an elector of participation in the electoral college for failure to honor that pledge of loyalty to the party nominee. In so doing, the Supreme Court reversed the Alabama state supreme court, and rejected the idea that an elector had any Constitutionally protected right to vote in the electoral college as he or she chose."

"No Elector has ever been prosecuted for failing to vote as pledged."

No, but states have the legal right to replace them if they do

Yet another one of your Liberal bubbles burst, eh Moonglow?

I have no emotive investment in what this guy says or does, so try creating a situation where one might be accepted. I merely posted what was done in such circumstances..and cited the law, deal with it..

I have no problem with a protest elector or two. Now if they try to mount a rebellion, that is criminal.
