Taxes Under Obama Hit Lowest Level Since 1950

Well said. I feel for a short time all Americans were united together after the 911 terrorist attack, I actully liked Bush going into groud zero ~~~~ well we know what happened after thAt Bush used the american people to go into a war and we were cheering until we saw he was going into the place opposite of where bin laden was...What a idiot Yep the Righties really love their big Military spending..
The war in Iraq, and the need to go to war in Iraq, was happily supported by any number of prominent Democrats, including at least three that you voted for (if you were old enoughj, anyway).

What do you mean " at least three that you voted for"? 147 Democrats in Congress voted against the Iraq Resolution.

H J RES 114 - YEA & NAY - 10 Oct 2002 - 3:05 PM
To Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq

133 Democrats Representatives in the House and 23 Democrat Senators voted against the Iraq war.

Here is a list of the 29 Democrat Senators that voted FOR the above Resolution:

Baucus (MT) Bayh (IN) Biden (DE) Breaux (LA)Cantwell (WA) Carnahan (MO) Carper (DE) Cleland (GA) Clinton (NY) Daschle (SD) Dodd (CT) Dorgan (ND) Edwards (NC) Feinstein (CA) Harkin (IA) Hollings (SC) Johnson (SD) Kerry (MA) Kohl (WI) Landrieu (LA) Lieberman (CT) Lincoln (AR) Miller (GA) Nelson (FL) Nelson (NE) Reid (NV) Rockefeller (WV) Schumer (NY) Torricelli (NJ)

Are there any names you recognize on that list?

"Net increase"? Talk about an irrelevant standard...
That's the only relevant standard.
No. It's not. It's the -most- irrelevant standard.

If your income tax goes down $100 and your propperty tax goes up $50, your net tax decresed by $50 -- but, you still suffered a tax increase, which REDUCED your net decrease.

I understand that you need to do whatever you can to defnd your Secular Messiah - but, maybe, just once in a while, you should consider how silly you look while doing so.

Since when did you start paying federal property taxes?:lol:

As you see people, not a single one of these worthless fucks who are claiming Obama raised their taxes can produce ANY evidence of the same.

Federal, state and local taxes -- including income, property, sales and other taxes -- consumed 9.2% of all personal income in 2009, the lowest rate since 1950, the Bureau of Economic Analysis reports. That rate is far below the historic average of 12% for the last half-century. The overall tax burden hit bottom in December at 8.8% of income before rising slightly in the first three months of 2010.

"The idea that taxes are high right now is pretty much nuts," says Michael Ettlinger, head of economic policy at the liberal Center for American Progress.

That conclusion echoed a similar finding from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities last month. CBPP found

Middle-income Americans are now paying federal taxes at or near historically low levels, according to the latest available data. That's true whether it comes to their federal income taxes or their total federal taxes.

So if that classic conservative myth were true, i.e., that lowering taxes increases revenues,

we should be seeing huge budget surpluses at all levels of government!!!

This isn't an issue with a lot of wiggle room, it's facts. How can you have such opposing views of facts?

The phrase cherry picking comes to mind.

The above in an example of the posts you put up after you sell your soul to the gods of partisan bigotry and become a master-class useful idiot.

No it's not.

It's exactly right.

Lower taxes, according to Conservatives, lead to higher revenues for the government.

Well?

Well?
The point you miss, deliberatly or otherwise:
Increased revenues, even huge increases in reveues, in no way necessitate budget surpluses.
You do understand this, right?

Good lord, your link is more than two years old!!! Tea Party "raging?"
The TPM has matured into a full blown movement getting candidates elected and has become a force to be reckoned with.
We hardly any longer bring signs to our events, which now can hardly even be called protests or even rallies.

The top rate was 20% lower in 1988, 28% versus 35%.

I believe they were speaking about about taxes as a whole, percentage of taxes mean nothing with the loopholes corporations have bribed into law.

We need to do what Reagan did, lower the rates and eliminate the loopholes.

Why, that's a good question. And the answer is? Because if taxes are lower under Obama, and the economy sucks, it takes away from the argument that lower taxes equates to higher levels of economic activity. Failing to believe that, the answer is. Lower taxes can't be fact because Obama is President and they (Repubs) hate Obama therefore taxes can't be lower and Dems are lying mutta fookers.

Or it could be the Rethugs on here are to fuking stupid to know what they are talking about.

Your choice.

Or it could be that tax rates are high, our corporate rate is the highest in the world, but tax receipts are low because the economy sucks under Obama.

tax rate and tax burden are 2 different things. And the the study measured tax as percentage of income.
