No. It's not. It's the -most- irrelevant standard.

If your income tax goes down $100 and your propperty tax goes up $50, your net tax decresed by $50 -- but, you still suffered a tax increase, which REDUCED your net decrease.


I understand that you need to do whatever you can to defnd your Secular Messiah - but, maybe, just once in a while, you should consider how silly you look while doing so.

You the lucky one! My property taxes skyrocketed to close to $7K, even though I lost about $100K in property taxes.

My State income tax went up by 2% (and they say temporarily - laughable).

Sales tax in Cook County went up to 10% (and 12% on prepared foods)!

Gas costs btw $4.18-$4.25 a gallon!

Sorry if I don't believe the line that taxes have gone down!
