Cutting Federal funding wont hurt education in the least. In fact, it will do alot to make it better. There is no point taking money from the people to give to the federal government to give to the state government rather than keeping it with the people and the state to begin with.

The reason we use tax money for public education is for the good of American society as a whole. Public education allows for a more highly skilled work force to allow us to be competitive in the global economy. Education also allows for greater class mobility. It is important for the future of this country that we provide educational opportunities to all citizens.

Our educational system performing well? No, it could do better, but the answer is not to de-fund it. Money taken from upper class Americans to fund education is a correct action provided the money is well spent. The alternative is a society in which talent goes to waste due to lack of opportunity, which will curtail American innovation and erode the middle class over the long run.

If you carry out the believe that one American is not entitled to another American's money, then you would have to completely disband government, including the military. The result would be anarchy. After all, all government functions depend on other people's money.
