Tax cuts for the rich, no money for schools

That seems to be a concept they can't see.
To them if we didn't have a daddy federal Government, we people COULD NEVER survive.

And that's the difference between them and me. I dont rely on government to survive. I put my trust in God and in the gifts He has given me.

Oh lovely, another parrot!

What other clever lines you got when someone pulls your string?

Hey Doofus, why don't you actually answer why you believe YOU are entitled to another American's money?? Hmm???

The reason we use tax money for public education is for the good of American society as a whole. Public education allows for a more highly skilled work force to allow us to be competitive in the global economy. Education also allows for greater class mobility. It is important for the future of this country that we provide educational opportunities to all citizens.

Our educational system performing well? No, it could do better, but the answer is not to de-fund it. Money taken from upper class Americans to fund education is a correct action provided the money is well spent. The alternative is a society in which talent goes to waste due to lack of opportunity, which will curtail American innovation and erode the middle class over the long run.

If you carry out the believe that one American is not entitled to another American's money, then you would have to completely disband government, including the military. The result would be anarchy. After all, all government functions depend on other people's money.

What a good little Socialist you are..

Rich people earned their money, why do you think it's ok for the government steal it from them? They derive a great deal more benefit from the existence of government than average people. What's "Their" money worth outside the framework of government? Fireplace kindling.

Teachers earned their budget cuts. America has the worst primary education system in all the industrialized world.

Yeah education sucks... So lets gut it some more... Idiot.

Throwing money at it has helped HOW?

because money will solve any problem, right?

No, but pulling the rug out from under it doesn't seem to be a great way to address it either.

You have to admit that education seems to have the most convenient argument ever. Basically goes like this. "We have a problem only more money can solve." So they give you more money. The problem doesn't go away. "Oh well that was because you didn't give us enough more money, so give us more money." So we give you more money. The problem persists. "Oh well that's because you didin't give us enough more money, so give us more money".......repeat infitium. At what point are you people going to stop, engage your brains a say "Hmmm, maybe more money isn't the solution to the problem"?

My gawd, you notice MONEY is the MAJOR thing liberals whine about..

It's always, we "DON'T HAVE ENOUGH" and you hard working stiffs should be DONATING more.

They would suck the life blood from you if they could.

I work for a school and they have BUDGETS just like the rest of us peons.

They also have a LOTTERY in this state that is SUPPOSED to go to funding schools.

Yet that is NEVER ENOUGH for a whiny assed liberal.

Wait a minute.

When you say you work for a school, you work for the government???

Will any of you acknowledge that the Rich benefit greatly, probably disproportionately, from the value that Education adds to the workforce?

Yep, you're a real genius there.

Sure I'll acknowledge it. Believe it or not there is not a shortage of actual jobs in this country. There is a shortage of people skilled/educated enough to do them. So yes business and its owners benefit from it.

But the argument you're trying to make is that since the rich benefit from it they shouldn't complain about paying more money towards education, right? Problem is that assumes the more money you put into education the smarter the 'educated' will be. And that simply isn't so.

Depends on how you break it down. The high cost of education in many public schools is related to the high costs of dealing with disabled children and other educationally problematic children that are extremely costly to deal with, but have to be dealt with. Schools with top heavy administration costs are also a problem.

Oh, the irony.

So you're kind of the female Ron Swanson, from 'Parks and Recreation'...

....dang that's hilarious.

Uhm, I don't know if you are aware of this, but, there are private schools.

Gettting rid of top heavy administration should allow us to reduce funding to schools. I also know about dealing with disabled kids in school as that is what my mom does. But that too should at the least be a fixed predictable expense that should not require more money. As time goes on and we are able to treat some of those issues the cost of dealing with that should go down as well.

The constant cry for more education dollars just has to make people wonder about the real goals of people. These are supposed to be educators and this educated people. And that can't figure out that there would not be an inherent correlation between more money as an input resulting in higher IQ's as an ouput.

South Korea and Norway have the best educational systems in all the industrialized world. Why don't we just adopt their system? (with English language instruction of course)

Why not? Because it takes away power from the NEA and Teachers Unions who care not a wit about education, just control and power over massive budgets.

Why do you SUPPORT educational fascism like that?

What about all the people who have paid taxes for decades yet never used the public school system?

The rich don't use it yet they pay for it.

People who have no kids don't use it yet they pay for it.

A trillion dollars for Iraq, Wall Street, and tax cuts for the rich, but no money for teachers or schools.

The USA spends more money on public education than any other nation in the world (with pitiful results). So if that's not enough, how much is, Chris?

Ok, I think I got it now. This country will improve if we:

- Continue to give as many tax breaks as possible to the wealthy
- Cut teachers salaries
- Maintain military spending
- Repeal the healthcare legislation and prevent 45 million people from being able to get healthcare coverage.

Seems like a solid plan.

That would be false. But that's ok. I just wanted to summarize the master plan of the GOP. Feel free to add to the list of brilliant ideas.

Ok, I think I got it now. This country will improve if we:

- Tax the wealthy into the poor house
- Unionize teachers and pay them whatever they demand
- Slash the military budget
- Establish national health care system (See Canada, Great Britain)

Seems like a solid plan
