Supreme Court gives green light to Ohio's voting roll purge

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that Ohio is allowed to purge eligible voters from the state’s registration records if they have not cast ballots in a while.

In a 5-4 ruling issued by Justice Samuel Alito, the high court ruled that Ohio’s law to trigger the removal of inactive voters from the state’s registry can be enforced.

State officials argued that the process used by Ohio for more than 20 years is constitutional and legal, and meant to ensure election security.

Civil liberties groups challenged the state’s program for removing thousands of people from voter rolls based on their failure to vote in recent elections, claiming it violated the National Voter Registration Act.

Awesome! Now democraps will actually have to WORK to get votes...and I don't mean digging up the dead for votes...:D

What’s the purpose ?

Would you be good with elimination of someone’s gun license if they are also removed from the voter rolls ?

it takes 6 years from a person not voting for them to be removed from the rolls. This includes a postcard being sent to their registered address, after two years of not voting, and THEN waiting four more years before removing them from the rolls.

it meets the federal requirements. that it was only a 5-4 decision just shows how partisan the progressive justices are.

I’m OK with it

Inactive for seven years and given a warning that you will be dropped. If you haven’t voted for seven years you should probably check anyway to see if your registration is active

"Alito also cited statistics that 24 million voter registrations—about one in eight—are “either invalid or significantly inaccurate,” and that about 2.75 million people “are said to be registered to vote on more than one state..."

There's Hillary popular vote win, right there

When you have more votes than live registered voters (detroit), there is a problem. 141 counties have more registered voters than citizens. This policy needs to be rolled out nation wide.

You make two very big assumptions.

1- people are voting multiple times
2- they are voting for one party.

If all this multiple voting was happening , it would be easily discovered .

Who’s to say it’s not the cons illegally voting? After all, the voter suppression cases always revolve around conservatives. Who is really doing the cheating ?

Which party actively supports lawlessness from their Presidential candidates and open borders?

2 fed cycles . Is it so crazy to think people wouldn’t vote in the last two fed cycles?

That's 3 cycles.

Actually yes, considering in 20 years I have only missed voting in two of them.

You have offset State cycles, offset local cycles, and every two years the entire congress and 1/3 of the Senate.

Asking a person to please vote in an election every 7 years to keep up your registration, considering the only thing you have to do if it lapses is re-register isn't asking too much.
