I haven't a clue why.
But after you get it sorted out get to work on why the country is spelled Philippines but its people are spelled Filipinos?
What is the United States the only country that refers to the Deutch as German?
Someone get sick there?
And there are no Filipinos named Philip.
In Venezuela its often doble v. Dominican Republic too.
Nica, Chile and Columbia use doble u. In CR and Ecuador I've heard both used.
In murka it's dubya.
Why is a "z" called zed in England?
I don't know, but when I write it, it looks like a pair of boobs. I have not yet been able to determine whether or not there was a subconscious reason behind that.
Why when transporting goods in the logistics business:
Called "freight" when carried by ship.
Called shipment when carried by a truck
Called cargo when carried by freight train
It boggles the mind.
