So a jewish baker can't turn down a Nazi cake order. Gotta love those libs!

Nazi's are included in Public Accommodation laws - so Ya, they can turn down a Nazi cake order.

Nazi isn't a race,

Nazi isn't a color,

Nazi isn't a religion,

Nazi isn't a sex,

Nazi isn't a sexual orientation,

Nazi isn't a national origin,

Nazi Isn't a marital status

Nazi isn't an age.

Public accommodation laws aren't mentioned in the Constitution.

That's true. They are not. They are state laws. Are you now going to tell us that that only laws that count are those in the Constitution?

Most PA laws are federal laws.

Most PA laws are federal laws.

Actually there is one Federal government and 50 State governments...

.......... Plus one for DC

................Then a few more for the territories (Guam, American Samoa, Northern Mariana, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands)

Wanna bet there are more non-federal PA laws then there federal PA laws?

If you ad them all together, probably. But we all know the majority are duplicates of laws in other states.

Wait,

If we can't discriminate against Blacks
and we can't discriminate against Homosexuals,

Then who can we discriminate against??

The illegals!! we can discriminate against the boarder crashers!

whew, I thought the stick in the mud liberals took away all our rights for a second there!!

I hope your pathetic little victories salve your bruised ego.

Murder is still an actual crime, one can apply reasonable limitations to any freedom. The issue is the ones you want are not reasonable.

Denial of service in a public accommodation is still a crime.

I guess what you consider "Reasonable" is at issue.

So let's review. Melissa Klein INVITED the couple in question to come to her shop if they ever decided to get married. It wasn't like this couple picked this shop out of a phone book or targetted it because they knew the owners were Christians. They were invited, and then found themselves being abused by Melissa's Bible thumping husband, who did like the thought of two ladies having sex unless it was on a porn tape, or something.

They made a complaint to the Oregon Civil Rights Bureau. At this point, the Kleins had the law explained to them and they could have simply apologized and that was the end of the matter. Instead they published the names of htis couple in right wing news sources, and they were subjected to even more abuse.

Just not working up a whole lot of sympathy for these people.

The right of the individual to associate with who they want to can only be taken away with a compelling government interest, more so if there is a religious component. Furthermore, the chruch/state "wall" you people blather on about works both ways, giving even more of a burden to the government to prove a compelling interest.

Melissa's isn't a church. It's a business institution.

And if she wasn't turning away Brides who wore pants, had braids, wore jewelry, had tattoos, weren't virgins or any of the other 300 examples of biblical misogyny, then she was using religion as an excuse, not as a reason, for their bigotry.
