This guy says his pick up truck backfires.....that is what the soldiers heard.......
But wait...there's more......the guy has guns in his home...and is a convicted felon.....
In monopoly language...."go directly to jail, do not pass go..."
Now....he is a convicted felon caught with guns that he is not allowed to have.....did we need a license to lock him up...? No. Do we need those guns to be registered in his name...? No, in fact they can't force him to since he is a felon and doing so would violate his constitutional right against self incrimination.....
So, registering those guns would do nothing, and isn't needed to arrest him, again, because he is already a felon and can be arrested and jailed simply for having the guns......no registration needed....
He can't pass a background check....but a background check didn't catch him did it....? He is a felon and just having the guns gets him arrested and locked up........
Suspect in Camp Shelby shootings claims truck backfire to blame
Now authorities have the suspect, Alfred Baria, 61, in custody.
Baria’s defense: his truck backfires.
As reported by WDAM, Baria admits he is the man Mississippi police have had a dragnet out for, but is adamant it was the mechanics of his vehicle to blame and not gunfire for the uproar.
Meanwhile, federal authorities including members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives searched Baria’s home and found guns, which as a convicted felon he is prohibited from possessing.
Baria currently faces two felony charges for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and four misdemeanor charges for disturbing the peace of a person.
So....now...actual gun control would mean this guy would spend the rest of his life in prison for having those guns as a convicted felon.......
How soon do you think he will actually be walking the streets?
So tell me.....since he can be arrested and jailed, and licensing, registration would not change that one little bit....what is the purpose of licensing and registering law abiding gun owners...?
