Sick and Tired of this N-Word Stuff...

Thats actually not true, you can't just say "anything". If you were to call me the n word right now, your post would be deleted and warnings issued.

Sad to hear that.

If anything, it represents the extent to which that kind of bogus thinking has taken hold in this great nation.
I have always seen it as pandering by the Left to the group whose voting block in necessary for them to keep power.

Sad? Why? You think you should be able to call a black guy a n*gger? Seriously? You can use n*gger, you just cannot use it as direct insult to an individual. Given the historic context of that particular word, why is it such a problem to not use it? Can you not be creative enough to think of a more appropriate insult? I can.

Only very, very, very stupid people want to call anyone a n*gger.

You can call a Jew **** though! JB gets away with it often!

Get over it. Certainly you can take the high road, can't you ?

So your saying it should be ok to use foul language like that? if you called someone the n word at your job you would be fired as well.

Personally, I think it is sad that worse words are not "censored" as well. BUT, if some of the words that are posted are not censored, then no words should be censored. It is enlightening to see what people use what words. If they use words that "I" feel should be censored, it gives me an idea of what type of conversation to have with that person. If they avoid that portion of their vocabulary, IMHO, they are more "reasonable" (the lefties would like to have that word censored).
There is also an art to using that type of vocabulary. You can tell the amateurs and the professionals: the professionals can make it work across all races, religions and sexual preferences to make a specific point. The amateurs are just haters that don't want to learn any better.

Personally, I couldn't relate to the rant either.

But had she griped about Asian women drivers... :eusa_whistle:

Now that one I would agree with! That and old people, woman, illegal aliens (they are the best drivers out there, never drive over 10 mph under the speed limit and always are 10 full car lengths away from the next car), taxi cab drivers (on the highway and burbs), Limo drivers, minivan drivers, Prius Drivers (oh they are the worst, drive 5 mph with smug looks on their faces and Obama stickers on their bumper), Indians from India and contractors in pick up trucks or vans! :eusa_whistle:

I'm saying just what I said.

Folks dress appropriately at work and speak appropriately. For the most part.

If they do not, others will show the correct reactions to correct them.

My attitude extends to speech, dress...most individual rights that I can think of. (Oops! Ended a sentence with a preposition!)

I find that there is very little requirement for correction.
I have found folks who use language that I find objectionable, and have no trouble in moving beyond and away....for the record, I have noone on 'ignore,' nor have I ever given a neg rep. I don't correct anyone's language (although I have been known to poke fun at spelling or grammar.)

"if you called someone the n word at your job you would be fired as well."
That would be up to the employer, wouldn't it.
As far as I know, there is no law that requires an employer to do so...and if a civil suit resulted in some penalty to an individual for same, it is a decision to which I would be opposed.

No one has a 'right' not to be offended.

So your saying people should just be able to go around throwing around racial slurs at whoever they want with no reprecussions? sorry I don't agree and I am glad most people don't agree with you on this either.

Hahahaha really? if you really believe this go up to a black person at your job ad just drop the n bomb, lets see how long you last.

I think "racial slurs" were the point. There was a woman slamming Asians in a way that could be considered very offensive to Asians. If she had done a similar type vid on blacks (using n... or not), the reaction would have been very different. It looked like the "Asian" was trying to teach a lesson with a sense of humor, and yet, he too, was offensive to women.
I understand why you are sensitive over this, and I agree that these words can hurt, terribly. At the same time, humor can be used to open communication in a way that offends all parties the least. My mom used to tell us that people will judge you by the words you use. This seems to be more true than ever.

True but a much better way assess a person is to see how they act towards others.
Talk is still as cheap as it ever was.

Regarding N word:

1. If you mean to address someone as a fellow brother in da hood
Just substitute the word "NEIGHBOR"
as in "NEIGHBOR PLEEZE!!!"
or "How's my NEIGHBOR doing?"

2. If someone is acting like a lazy slob and victim of oppression,
then substitute the word BEGGAR
as in

"Hey you BEGGARS get your act together
I'm tired of working and breaking my back
While you stand on the street corner
Selling your crack"

In both contexts, people will get your meaning directly
even if you don't literally use or say the N word!

do we get to suggest alternate ways of behaving too cuz the way some people act bugs the shit out of me ?

So, this is racism in code?

I didn't watch the entire video of either...but a few comments...

Why is the Chinese guy insulted to be taken as a Japanese person?

What kind of twit would post what that Anglo girl did on the internet?

Why are you upset over racism against Asians but I've never seen you upset over racism toward blacks?

:eusa_eh:

You missed the point entirely.

The "n-word" censorship is the only part of this that I am inclined to be upset over. And, you're right, you'll never see me get incensed over some insult to blacks....that's just bogus lib-sensibility.

The rest should roll off ones back like the proverbial water and duck...

What do you do if insulted? Give it right back.

Nobody should be fired, fined, imprisoned.....whatever for any 'insult' or 'thought crime' or 'hate crime' identified by what someone says or shouts.

One of my fav reasons for the USMB is that one can say anything....and be responded to, just as I am doing right now.
That's a major difference between the America that I love, and, say...Euro-thinking.
You know, liberal thinking.
ah, I get it...you approve of fighting racism with racism. That's fine, I suppose it works as well as anything else.

well to be fair. the n word is used constantly by black people on each other. so I don't think I'd get real upset either if I heard a white person say it. Either the word is okay or it isn't..

No--it's code for authoritarian manipulation.
I'm afraid the definition of the word tolerance needs a little looking into.

What I was supporting was fighting offense with humor.

I think it's a step up on the 'intelligent response' ladder.

The white chick was also using humor. And if the Asian dude was...he was also being a bit racist.

I really don't see a huge difference between the two of them.
