Seems like the Dems can now pick the next house speaker

Which Lib city is clean, safe, prosperous, likeminded and united?
The quality of life in ALL blue shitholes sucks ass for the poor and those average Joes you proclaim to cherish.
I love how you idiots harp on this but ignore how impoverished and white trash the southern states are with high food stamp rates. How can you be so ignorant of that? It’s bizarre lol

Cities are cities. A high density of people is bound to create higher crime rates. I mean you would have to be a moron to not understand why crime rates are lower in rural areas.

Actually a nomination for speaker only needs a majority of members. Traditionally dismiss the majority party would pick the speaker. But if the democrats can make a deal with some of the moderate republicans, With everyone involved being a majority of the membership, Then they can nominate someone.
If Republicans were smart, they’d agree to such a plan.

But Republicans aren’t smart.

How would he get booted?
The democrats that got him there would want a pound of flesh which would alienate him from the GOP and/or lose him the DNC support. Just the way the last guy got booted, this guy would be hung out to dry for the shitz and giggles.

That said, I expect the position to remain vacant for quite awhile.

There's a slim republican majority and if some RINO's decide to vote with their comrades in the democrat party there ain't much that can be done. Scalise might be the best choice. Any republican who survived an assassination attempt by a socialist commie Sanders zealot has my support. If there are any Scalise stickers available I'd gladly put one on my car.

The GOP would have to decide to boot another of their own. It would be a disaster. The speakers party would likely protect

All the Dems need to do is pick a moderate Republican who can gain a handful of votes from his/her fellow Republicans and they can make that person the next speaker.

It would would completely take the wind out of the stunt that Matt Geatz and crew are fundraising off of and give the Dems a better opposition than the wingnuts like Jim Jordan would provide. Thoughts?
But they won’t. They’ve already said Jeffries is their leader, always has been.

Hakeem Jeffries would be my 2nd choice.

He doesn’t have the votes.
Five fed up Republicans who decide to end the Putin/Trump control of the Republican Party and thus the control of continued funding for Ukraine’s military counteroffensive to drive the civilian killing Russians off their soil, can end PUTIN’s only way to continue killing Ukrainian civilians like he did today.

A Russian rocket has killed at least 51 people in northeastern Ukraine as they held a memorial service, Kyiv says, in one of the deadliest such attacks in months.
Dozens of people were in a cafe and shop in the Kharkiv village of Hroza when the missile struck.
President Volodymyr Zelensky denounced the attack in the as a "demonstrably brutal Russian crime" and "a completely deliberate act of terrorism".

The only names that are coming up are more conservative hardliners. So the Dems can sit and watch Jordan or Scolise get the gavel or they can do an end around and get a moderate in there and watch the entire charade blow up on the wingers faces.
It would be political suicide for any Republican in the House to side with the Democrats when selecting the new speaker.

They don’t need to side with Democrats. They just need to throw their hat in the ring and garner a handful of Republican votes.

The GOP seems highly divided. I am not sure there would be enough of them to see it your way to save anybody. They pretty much can't hide the dumpster fire at this point. They are just throwing anybody they can onto the coals.
