... Trump floated the idea of using disinfectants to treat COVID-19 patients....

""Oh, my goodness gracious... I could just see what's going to happen.
You're going to have people who hear that from the president
and they're going to start doing dangerous and foolish things."

Debunked in post 39

I bet you have butt raped countless trumpy bear dolls with no lube while choking them out of TDS.
You are free to pleasure yourself with whatever lurid scenarios strike your fancy.

CASINO BOY PLAYS A METEOROLOGIST ON TV!

After Trump had falsely insisted that Hurricane Dorian would strike Alabama, and the National Weather Service had rushed to correct him, Trump faked the forecast map with a Sharpie® and insisted that his fraudulent depiction of the hurricane's path was correct.

Fortunately for the residents of Southeastern Alabama, Hurricane Dorian refused to be bullied into ravaging Alabama.

Everybody laughed. Trump sulked. White House Sharpies® were safely locked away. Further mass evacuations were averted.

Hey, remember when you guys were talking shit about DEFUND?

What ever happened to that? YOu guys going to walk the walk now, or was that all bullshit?
That was all bs they said to pretend to be on the side of blacks. Malcom x told blacks how white liberals really are and it holds true to this day.

And the fact that they were just talking trash, proves both that it is just pretend, AND that libs think blacks are dumb.

I am thinking that you may need some help for your fixation on Trump....

As for Science, to say that Trump didn't use Science to make his decisions is a lie...And no amount of ridiculous mockery you put up change that fact.

Malcom x told blacks how white liberals really are and it holds true to this day.
The relevance of your evocation of Malcolm X's attitude in the 1950s and early 60s to today's return to respect for science eludes me. He disliked mathematics in school, but I can find nothing to suggest that he felt contempt for science. Nor, if he harbored such a sentiment, I seriously doubt that it would have any relevance currently.

Biden makes shift from Trump on science
President Biden is taking steps to restore scientific integrity to government actions after several controversies in which advocates say science was sidestepped or ignored by the Trump administration...
Joel Clement, a former Interior Department official and whistleblower who believes he was reassigned due to his work on climate change, said he was particularly optimistic that the new administration and its policies would prevent political interference in the grant process.
“I think we’re all celebrating because of how low the executive branch sank during the Trump years, but of course, as always there’s more that has to be done to really get scientific integrity right,” said Clement, who is now a senior fellow at Harvard.
The Washington Post reported in 2018 that year that the Interior Department had told staff to make sure that grants for outside groups “promote the priorities” of the Trump administration and subjected some grants to political review. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reportedly had a similar policy...
Vijay Limaye, a former EPA air pollution scientist who is now a climate and health scientist at the Natural Resources Defense Council praised the administration for including a provision that will ensure scientific advisory committees are diverse and full of people with expertise. He particularly raised concerns about the EPA’s Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee (CASAC), where a panel of scientists were removed from their advisory roles on a major air pollution standard.
“There's a whole lot of work to do in terms of elevating the voices, and the work of really solid science that's been happening all along within the federal government, but also a project to restore the confidence of those federal scientists themselves that their work will not be sidelined or censored or ignored, when it comes to shaping policies around the evidence,” he said.
Biden ... re-established the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), a group of advisors on science, technology, and innovation.
“It’s a great step, which in addition to the appointment of a science adviser early on, the rechartering of PCAST really signals that this administration is really serious about science advise,” said Genna Reed, a senior analyst at the Union of Concerned Scientists’s Center for Science and Democracy.
“Under the Trump administration they had been left vacant for nearly three years before being chartered and I that just really, I think, signaled the lack of interest, the almost disdain for science advice that was a bug of the Trump administration,” Reed said...
“The key move is going to happen on the Hill. Congress is going to need to pass the Scientific Integrity Act to that and have to put some accountability in there,” he said.

I stopped reading here. This is teh best you've got? A new administration is switching sides on a controversial political issue?

What a shocker. Say it is not so. Oh, the horror.

That depends upon whether one judges by appearances, or recognizes more complex factors.

Certainly, the State can dictate identity to an individual rather than respect a person's right (and superior capacity) to acknowledge self.

In a more expansive context, it should be noted that Trump, within the severely-restricted confines of his noggin, has proclaimed himself the master of just about everything:

Loser's lickspittles delight in that sort of thing. Others just chortle.

Ideological dogma displaced science under Trumpery, but the United States - largely indebted to science in its history of progress to global primacy in technology, medicine, and other scientific pursuits - is now getting back on that proven path of enlightenment.

Biden is taking steps to restore scientific integrity to government actions after several controversies in which advocates say science was sidestepped or ignored by the Trump administration.

Biden this week created a task force to review agency scientific integrity policies. He’s also requiring that all federal research agencies have a chief science officer, and that all agencies have a scientific integrity official.

The steps come after the Trump administration was mired in several controversies, including accusations its COVID-19 policies didn’t always follow science.

The New York Times reported in September that federal guidance stating it wasn’t necessary to test people without COVID-19 symptoms wasn’t written by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) scientists, and was posted online despite objections from government scientists. Politico reported that politically appointed aides have also sought to review and change CDC reports.

Separately, a recent inspector general investigation found that the White House pushed for a correction of a National Weather Service tweet that contradicted then-President Trump’s assertion that Hurricane Dorian in 2019 was endangering Alabama.

Much more broadly, Trump was criticized for refuting science that humans are contributing to climate change.

Biden has sought to send a signal that his government will listen to scientists on the need to fight climate change and other issues.

... [T]he president directed the top official in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy to start the scientific integrity task force. It is to review and publish findings on the effectiveness of scientific integrity policies at government agencies...

Galileo would have cheered the advance. He was condemned for his "heresy" - the empirical reality he had observed that the earth travels around the sun - and forced to submit to the ideological, earth-centered dogma dictated as the official propaganda of his day. Three hundred years later, the church/state arbiters of truth conceded. Galileo was not available for comment at the time.

Science is a self-correcting process in which progress is inherent. Ideological dogma is static and impervious to the accrual of knowledge.

Sounds like complete bullshit and a handout to the academics who support the Dem Party by indoctrinating their students.
Better to indoctrinate with the scientific method than with appeals to ignorance.

Men in the Ladies room. LOL

This new learning amazes me
Do you complain when there are Ladies in the Men's room?

As for Science, to say that Trump didn't use Science to make his decisions is a lie.
Dr. Anthony Fauci said it was “chilling” to see the pressure put on scientists during the Trump administration by officials seeking to project rosy messaging about the coronavirus. He described it as "a situation where science was distorted and/or rejected" noting that "... there was conflict at different levels with different people and different organizations and a lot of pressure being put on to do things that just are not compatible with the science."

I can only cite the many critical observations of scientists and scientific organizations, but would appreciate any encomiums the scientific community offered about your Trump that you can provide.

I would be especially interested in climatologists who embraced Trump's notion that "the concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive."

I always enjoy the hubris of scientismists and logical positivists. :auiqs.jpg:

What is Scientism?

". . . Physicist Ian Hutchinson offers an insightful metaphor for the current controversies over science:

“The health of science is in fact jeopardized by scientism, not promoted by it. At the very least, scientism provokes a defensive, immunological, aggressive response from other intellectual communities, in return for its own arrogance and intellectual bullyism. It taints science itself by association.” (13)

Noting that most Americans enthusiastically welcome scientific advancements, particularly those in health care, transportation, and communications, Hutchinson suggests that perhaps what the public is rejecting is not actually science itself, but a worldview that closely aligns itself with science—scientism (14). By disentangling these two concepts, we have a much better chance for enlisting public support for scientific research than we would by trying to convince millions of people to embrace a materialistic, godless universe in which science is our only remaining hope.. . . "

We can always argue with scientists regarding scientism, and by resorting to the fewest fallacies we can discover sublime Truth (value) through argumentation.

Right wingers only resort to right wing fantasy and insist they must be Right simply because they are on the right wing.

Faucci also said Trump saved hundreds of Thousands of lives with his travel ban from China in the opening days of the virus as well...Faucci is a politicized character...I would expect him to stick his finger in the air depending on which media outlet he is appearing on...

But, there is nothing you can point to Schmiddy, that shows that Trump didn't let the Scientists not only write policy on the path, but the restrictions as well...They have said as much, and anyone saying that isn't so is lying to you...

As for the GW stuff, while I do believe that warming is real, the canard that it is man made of full of shit, and is nothing more than a global scheme to redistribute nation wealth from wealthier countries, to less wealthy countries..

I would feel more comfortable with what was being put forth if progressive liberals like you didn't always corrupt the science with ideology...

Welcome to Republican science, and Democrat Science.

Or more likely, Science, and Mental Illness.

I share your hope, but the roadblocks are not small, they are profound and serious.
Science has always fought an uphill battle against those with a vested interest in ignorance.

Arrogant ignorance.
