Many schools enforce a uniform-clothing policy to streamline the fashion criterion in students' minds and reduce the peer pressure of classroom 'couture.'

School uniform policies have been criticized for engendering a rebelliousness in students, but advocates suggest that uniforms remove style-distractions from the classroom environment.

We may start to think that presentations of school uniforms feel like 'civics parades' and that they are not that different from policemen showcases, since they symbolize civil concerns. However, addressing their value helps us better appreciate 'population management.'

How much attention school uniforms receive reflects how much social focus education receives, so examining school uniform policies by nation can improve our analysis of education governance across the globe (and hence across economies and cultures).

How does the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton address the issue of school uniforms, and how does the 2016 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump address the issue? Such a question can enhance our evaluation of 'political pluralism' this election year.

I'm not in favor of school uniforms. What I would like to see is a strictly enforced dress code, which removes the style and fashion distractions while still allowing for some limited freedom of choice and allowances for different income levels in the school system.

Yes because boys wearing skirts to school since they cannot wear shorts when it is hot probably isn't a distraction.

Our oldest children's school is currently contemplating the use of uniforms, the majority of parents support it while the majority of students oppose it

Style distractions???
Hmmm, no matter what they was wearing, I saw them naked....At least the females...

So glad I was raised before the pc police showed up. Loved my short skirts, Mohair sweaters, and shoes with cleats. We looked so damn good! Then we were taught math, and science and stuff in our cool clothes, because that was why we were there. For an education, not a fashion show.

In Australia, all schools wear uniforms. I used to look on american sitcoms with envy lol. Girls used to graphitti the inside of their uniform skirts.

Cereal Couture

All notable comments, and here's a somewhat relevant question to add (I'm so happy this thread got comment-interest):

"What's the difference between school uniform marketability (in the modern world) and trend-merchandising in cereal boxes?"

I think one of the main stigmas associated with school uniforms is that they feel like a 'pseudo-socialist' approach to education philosophy.

Culture in General

The best way for me to approach this issue is to present arguments/ideas about how the 'regularness' of school uniforms is contoured with the backdrop of a 'rebellious culture.'

If kids feel like society welcomes discussions about how clothing is related to attitude, then school uniforms will feel less 'fascist.'

I can't think of a better way personally to address this controversial topic, which is why I am probably sounding repetitive!
