Very simple thread.
a 100 point spread top to bottom essentially no change
200 point spread normal year.
300 point spread high normal
400 points scary news.
500 points scary thing happens a massive bailout.
600 point very scary thing happens a state or foreign national default.
700 point OMG
800 point off the charts.
900 a very transforming event good or bad Sure for cancer or major war.
1000 either cheap cold fusion or a close encounter with all out nuclear war.
Which do you pick as likely?
 
I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised if we challenged the highs.
How about the lows? Flatlining at this level would seem to lead to major deterioration in bonds and Real Estate. At this level a 200 point rise would equal a 16% range or an essentially flatline year in stocks.
