The last time democrats won the white vote was the election before civil rights was passed. It was not a coincidence as that marked the fleeing of racists from the democrat party into the party that tried to uphold segregation; republicans that is.

Are you serious...the democrats upheld segregation until they realized that no matter how hard they tried to suppress African Americans...African Americans were still going to vote...then they switched their tactic to the Great Society...we give you just enough to keep you in poverty...you vote for us...

Republicans are not the racist party...that was the greatest political magic trick when the democrats convinced African Americans that after fighting for slavery...and enacting Jim Crow laws...they were now the party of helping African Americans....
