The political world is buzzing this morning after the first Presidential Debate at the University of Denver last night. Supporters of Gov. Romney were thrilled with his performance. Those backing President Obama weren't so pleased. As MSNBC's Chris Matthews fumed, "Where was Obama tonight…What was he doing?"

The debate probably didn't change the opinion of the hard core supporters in either camp. But, the opinion of those voters still trying to figure out which candidate to support – the "undecideds" – was the crucial part of the audience both candidates were trying to reach.

Romney now has some momentum and we should be pushing harder and attacking Obama more and more as well as Biden.

The BBC had focus groups set up in each swing state. Attendees were 'undecided independent likely voters'. Results looked really good for Romney... but, he needs to stay one the offensive, he needs to do well at the next two debates.... and Ryan needs to verbally eviscerate Biden just for the craic of it.

Does Romney's debate win make you more likely to vote for him? Maybe 1% or so? Now everyone was touting the CNN after debate "who won" poll so what about this one which shows a moderate bump? More likely is the key because they could change their likely vote along the way.

A truly accurate reading on the debate's impact on the race will not be possible for several days, Young said. That is because the poll drew on a smaller pool of voters, taken over a shorter period of time, than the Reuters/Ipsos daily tracking poll that measures the prospects of each candidate.
