Romney: Income inequality is just "envy"

So you aren't angry with the rich because they have more money than you? Isn't that the very definition of envy?

Sure is.

What the left really hates, and who they really want to go after. Is people who have already earned their money. It pisses them off that they have Millions of Dollars in the bank and no income to tax. They ignore of course they it was taxed when it was earned, any interest on it is taxed, and when they die it will be taxed again.

They just think people should not have money laying around. Everyone should live week to week you know.

lol

a lot of it is Envy. Yes, it is messed up that some people make Billions while other don't, But In America everyone has a chance at least to be that Billionaire. Same can't be said for most countries, and definitely can't be said for Socialist ones. Socialist Countries have a Rich elite class, it's just that the Socialist Parties who control the countries get to choose who gets to be the Billionaires, and that is exactly what the left in America wants.

To seize the money already earned by the rich to pay for their agenda.

Attitudes like this are what people like Romney have successfully banked on.

Yeah, because saving failing businesses is such an evil act.

Sweet evil Jesus, the man's a walking gaffe Machine.

Any minute now, I expect him to say, "let them eat cake!"
Someone asked him is he could say, "let them in cake" in French. Mitt said, "yes, but I won't".
True story.

All the elections that hes lost ... I'm sure its because you cannot miss the disconnect between the words and the face. He's crooked and he can't hide it.

Him hiding in the fancy palace during the war - If he hadn't lied about it, if he had told the truth, would anyone hold it against him?

Instead, we're seeing the beautiful building where he lived while he's saying he slept on a pile of donkey dung and ate old carrots -- or whatever his ridiculous story was.

Why do crooks like Romney believe they won't get caught? Why does he think we won't find out about his sister in Mexico or his beliefs about polygamy? Or any of the other lies he's told.

If you envy them so much, then why don't you develop your own ability to "buy US public policy and law"? What is wrong with people with resources trying to make their country better?

You equate people bribing - oh sorry donating - to political parties as making your country better? No wonder your political system is so fucked up...

Buying public policy is corrupting this country. It is handing all the money & power to an elite few who rule over you & strip you of your rights.

How is it against my own interest to prevent the government from robbing my neighbor? How does it hurt me if my neighbor keeps what he works for?

Yeah, and those "neighbors" like Romney, the Kochs, Murdoch - boy howdy, they're looking out for your best interests, aren't they.

Jesus but you a raving loony. If you actually believe what you wrote, you're just plain nuts.

God, and to think this guy is their best bet...
He's not, and he's still correct.

When does making a rich person poor make the poor better off? Emotional catharsis because you 'got one'? Some sick little schadenfreude to get you through those lonely nights?

Trickle up poverty never works and makes other poor people's lives better.

Is the right envious of the poor when members of GOP talk about "broadening the taxbase" and making the 47% that are too poor to pay income taxes pay their fair share?
Or how about in places like Wisconsin where republicans tried to make private sector workers "envious" of public sector workers by talking about how those public sector workers have better benefits than private sector workers do so we need to take them away from them.

How is it that when the right engages in it they seem to have no problem with class warfare?

So you think people shouldn't be able to donate to causes they beleive in?

So you're saying you cant answer my questions?

I didn't think you would.

So if the top 53% do not fund all the government, they are not paying their fair share. But when the lower 47% do not pay anything and/or become a net drain on the economy they are innocents? NOT parasites?

Gov. Walker is making the private sector envious of unsustainable golden goose benefit packages public sector unions got by rigging the negotiation process by helping get their opposite member at the negotiation table elected and thereby should be recused due to conflict of influence??? Nope, sorry. They recognize that the public sector is pulling a fast one and trying to claim they're justified in being 'untouchable' by an economic downturn because they are too 'saintly and essential'. The rest of the state sees it and calls bullshit on WEAC and their out of state cronies attemting to influence WI policy because they're afraid the necessary steps will soon be at their very door.

The public sector should NEVER be superior in pay and benefit to the private sector employment. Ever. Lest it forget that they are public SERVANTS and the servant never makes more than it's master, the taxpayers... which in this case is only the upper 53% of wage earners in this nation.

Can we agree that there will always be "income inequality"as long as there is capitalism? I guess there was no income inequality to speak of in the people's paradise of communist Russia the American left loves to dream about. I'm beginning to like Romney more and more as long as the sissie neo-socialists continue to pick on him.

There was still income inequality. See all the politicians had the money and the people were dirt poor. Which is precisely what they want.

Envy (Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary (1828 edition))

v.t. [L. invideo, in and video, to see against, that is, to look with enmity.]

1. To feel uneasiness, mortification or discontent, at the sight of superior excellence, reputation or happiness enjoyed by another; to repine at another''s prosperity; to fret or grieve one''s self at the real or supposed superiority of another, and to hate him on that account.

2. To grudge; to withhold maliciously.

EN''VY, n. Pain, uneasiness, mortification or discontent excited by the sight of another''s superiority or success, accompanied with some degree of hatred or malignity, and often or usually with a desire or an effort to depreciate the person, and with pleasure in seeing him depressed. Envy springs from pride, ambition or love, mortified that another has obtained what one has a strong desire to possess.

If you would stick to judging my comments for what I ACTUALLY said instead of trying to put words into my mouth that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

BTW you do know that the number 47% refers to INCOME taxes only and not taxes as a whole don't you??

Oh and thanks for proving my point and engaging in class warfare which the right claims to be against. The mere fact that you consider public workers as less than private sector workers says it all. Master and servants?? Really?? WOW!

They have it, you don't and you believe that they shouldn't have it. Therefore you must be envious. LOL

Again I have to ask, How is it that when the right engages in it they seem to have no problem with class warfare?

There will be 'income equality' as long as humans exist and economic activity continues. You can hide it and change the percentages, but there will NEVER be a true 'post scarcity' economy or Afflueconomics. We live in a world subject to scarcity and entropy. These are two things that can never be escaped, only endured. To say otherwise is to be delusional and incapable of accepting reality, disqualifying one from the label of rational.

A tough republican who believes in capitalism at a time when neo-socialists control government . Seems pretty refreshing to me.

You are a fool that does not know the first thing about Romney, or what his company did, that Liberals didn't tell you.
