The real question is, how loyal are the Trump delegates? If they are trump true believers, this isn't an issue. If they are party regulars who got designated as trump delegates because Trump didn't have the organization to vet delegates for loyalty, then shame on him for not doing the work involved.

Here's the thing. the Primaries are not the last word on candidate selection. If for instance, Trump or Hillary were convicted of a crime, would their delegates still be obligated to name them as the candidate? of course not.

That said, the GOP had better find a rock solid candidate if they are going to sandbag Trump. I can't think of anyone who fits the bill. General Petreaus maybe if he hadn't disgraced himself.
