The continuing resistance to backing Trump as the presumptive nominee by some GOP insiders (remember the first debate pledge?) may turn out to be a fulfillment of their worst fears about losing the Senate (and maybe the House) even if he wins the Presidency. If they don't change their tune fairly quickly, many Trump voters may ignore other GOP candidates or even vote against them in the general election.

At this point, the GOP needs Trump's endorsement more than he needs them. If they don't wake up soon, President Trump may have to play ball with a Democratic Congress if he wants to get anything accomplished. Right now, it's their call.

I don't know that the GOP wouldn't prefer Clinton to the massive amounts of tariffs and subsidies Trump is saying he will use. He also uses the same rhetoric against the wealthy as Bernie Sanders does (ironic because he is one of them) and is pretty openly opposed to free trade.

Any republican who stands against Trump I vote against.
