Republicans looking to cut trillions with an “s” from Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security

Good. The sooner we drastically cut spending, the better. We're headed towards insolvency and ignoring the problem won't make it go away.
Let’s start with another couple trillion in tax cuts for billionaires. The trillions under Bush and now the trillions under Trump simply aren’t enough to make the deficit go away, right?

Dood. We don't have an undertaxing problem. We have an excessive spending problem. Raising taxes doesn't increase tax receipts. People CHANGE THEIR BEHAVIOR when the marginal amount of money they can earn makes the effort not worth while or they move to lower tax jurisdictions.

Hauser's law is the proposition that, in the United States, federal tax revenues since World War II have always been approximately equal to 19.5% of GDP, regardless of wide fluctuations in the marginal tax rate.[1] Historically, since the end of World War II, federal tax receipts as a percentage of gross domestic product averaged 17.9%, with a range from 14.4% to 20.9% between 1946 - 2007.[2]

Have you noticed that the more truth you post the more attacks and smears come from the Republicans?

If Republicans believe Trump isn’t going to do this, they’re more than welcome to post links that prove their position.

Only if they can’t.

We know they can’t.

You know they can’t.

They know they can’t.

And so they smear and attack.

What else do they have?

Trump wants to spend billions and billions more for defense. But if we have a ruined country where 80% of the country lives in poverty, what are we protecting? Trump and his ilk?

If we don't provide for our national defense, we don't have a country, bub.

Deanie boy is struggling to find anything relevant to post about every since Mueller neutered him by failing to find any evidence of Russian collusion. ..
Why are you saying that? Even Barr said Trump wasn’t exonerated. What do you think that means?

So? What was he charged with? Not a damn thing!

Suck it up, buttercup!

Trillions? You do know the federal budget is about $4+ trillion. How do you cut trillions from a number that is that small?

Let’s look at what it actually does-

On Medicare, the budget would move towards a system of private health insurance plans competing with one other, rather than the current open-ended, government-provided Medicare system.

On Medicaid, the budget would impose new caps that could lead to cuts in payments over time.
....

For Medicare, private insurance is already utilized by many. It would make it more competitive, thus hopefully leading to lower premiums.

Notice, for Medicaid the article says “could”. Not that it definitively does.

You don’t think Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security are relevant? That’s insane!

Could you imagine if Trump threw 20 million people off of healthcare? Republicans wouldn’t win another presidential election for generations. What are they going to run on? We will kill you?

Republicans looking to cut trillions with an “s” from Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security

House GOP 2019 budget calls for deep Medicare, Medicaid spending cuts

House Republicans offered a budget proposal on Tuesday that would cut mandatory spending by $5.4 trillion over a decade, including $537 billion in cuts to Medicare and $1.5 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and other health programs.

On Medicaid, the budget would impose new caps that could lead to cuts in payments over time.

The budget also sets up a fast-track process known as reconciliation that could allow ObamaCare repeal to pass without Democratic votes in the Senate.

Trump said he wouldn’t cut Medicaid, Social Security, and Medicare. His 2020 budget cuts all 3.

The first article was written last June. This new one was written this month. And the amounts they want to cut now are even worse than from last June. Because they’ve seen the damage their tax cuts for billionaires cost and now they have to pay for those tax cuts.

What is there to say?

An outsider looking at this and not knowing anybody would just assume that Republicans hate Americans. Especially the elderly and the infirm.

And no one believes the Republicans are finished with their tax cuts for billionaires. That’s been the goal all along.

And what they’re looking to cut are our benefits. You still have to pay for it, you just don’t get the benefits. And now they’re even including Social Security.

Republicans on the USMB keep calling me a liar and telling me I’m delusional. All you have to do is look at their policies. How do you defend this?

What kind of people are these?
Reprehensible, hateful, and wrong.

This is why the voters gave control of the House to Democrats, to safeguard citizens from the reckless, irresponsible rightwing agenda.

How is getting rid of Obamacare (which most people are not on) throwing 20 million people off healthcare?

When my brother was poor, he had Medicaid for coverage. When he got a job, went to work, and made money, they took it away and forced him on ObamaCare which he could not afford, so he had no coverage. How does that make any sense?

ObamaCare threw people off their health insurance already!

He doesn't think anything is relevant except to suck tramp's dick and lick his balls. All he does here is post his adoration for him time and time again. He would gladly let tramp fuck him up the ass if that's what he wanted, then thank him for the privilege after it was over.

If tramp wants to take away everything that will benefit the average person, even if it hurts him personally, then he's all for it. Got a kid who needs Medicaid to keep treating their cancer...nope, let the kid die. Grandma in a nursing home and her Medicare is no longer paying for her care? Nope, let her be tossed out. A senior who has been paying into SS all their life now can't reap those benefits? Nope! Go be homeless you slacker and taker! If tramp says that is what he wants, then this cultist will be fine with it.

Our wonderful Pres. Trump is the best thing to happen to this country in decades.

He deserves to be praised and adored by all citizens for his unselfish service and dedication to the nation.

Only miscreants and malcontents will deny this fact. ....

He missed the part where Democrats and Progressives look to cut 100's of Trillions (with a "s" and a couple of 0's) from our military budget.

If you adjust the length of time you want to calculate the cuts occurring over, you could come up with an infinite amount of money cut from the budget. They just pick a scary number, spin stuff until it sticks and get gullible people like dean to buy it as breaking news.
