Republicans attack energy spending that’s creating jobs in their districts

At least 37 congressional districts now represented by Republicans have welcomed
expansions of new clean energy operations through various Democratic-led initiatives.
Earlier this year, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene heralded the expansion of a South Korean solar panel production company in her district — a $2.5 billion cash infusion.“QCells, the solar company ... I think they’re fantastic,” she said. “I support all kinds of energy.”

It was made possible by the tax incentives included in President Joe Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act, which the Georgia Republican, along with all of her GOP colleagues, opposed.

Greene is far from alone among Republicans cheering clean energy investments created by Democratic policies they all snubbed. And that’s creating some awkward dynamics for GOP lawmakers who are seeking to wipe out Biden’s clean-energy spending plans...

“The Biden Clean Energy Plan has helped create more than 140,000 clean energy jobs across the U.S. — the majority of which are in Republican-held districts,” said Lori Lodes, executive director of the group Climate Power, citing its own estimates of the law’s economic impact.

“Now MAGA extremists are threatening to implode our country’s economy — and the clean energy manufacturing boom that’s happening in their communities — to protect their own corporate, anti-climate interests,” she said.

...[A]t least 37 congressional districts now represented by Republicans have welcomed expansions of new clean energy operations fostered by three major Biden-era laws — last year’s Inflation Reduction Act, the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure law or the CHIPS and Science Act.

Republican districts were home to about two-thirds of the major renewable energy, battery and electric vehicle projects that companies had announced since Biden signed the IRA in August.

Cronie capitalism isnt the American way. It is government picking winners and losers and We the People(who are sane) know what this government is pushing US into. A 3rd world state where no one will have rights and everyone will be slaves of the system.

Granted that Biden is not a whizzbang POTUS, but the emirical data is irrefutable.

Under the President's predecessor:

The economy lost 2.9 million jobs. The unemployment rate increased by 1.6 percentage points to 6.3%.

Joe Biteme didnt create shit, he assumed an economy that had been ruined by Joe and China working together, when China released the Kung Flu upon America, to make President Trump look bad, and so Joe could steal the 2020 election by having ballot harvesting without Republican watches after 2am. This worked, but still all those jobs were coming back during President Trump, and continued, even with the best effort of Joe to stop our energy independence, massive regulations on EQUITY not EQUALITY. Joe is far worse than Jimmy Carter ever was, and even beats his boss, the brown turd Obammy.

Now you are a big fan of Marjorie Green?

Or is it some kind of a troll post.

Egg prices are back up, price of chicken is back up, gas prices are up again.

What good are jobs, people can’t afford a home. Hell even the so-called “income controlled apartments” in the east side of Buffalo are like $950 minimum per month …. an astronomical increase compared to the times when Donald Trump was in office.

The price of a home is astronomically higher compared to what it was in 2018.

So many Americans living in the prime of their life right now getting completely screwed over by a terrible economy.

A solar company in MTG's district called QCells

You can't make this stuff up.

The only "thanks" we Americans have for President Potatohead is "thanks for stealing the 2020 election and fucking up the greatest country on earth".

I purchased 2 pitiful bags of groceries yesterday, I paid a whopping $87 for Joe Biden groceries.
I don’t know how a family of four can go to pizzerias. Chicken wings are a major staple of Buffalo New York… before 2020 you could get 10 wings for $10 or less now they’re anywhere from 16 to 18 $ for an order of 10 wings.

Democrats don’t care about black lives.

Dollar stores have become the fastest-growing source of groceries for Americans by share of household food spending, especially among poor Black people in rural areas, according to a recent study.

Those types of foods are packed with high amount of sodium, high fat, high cholesterol and high processed sugar levels…

There is absolutely no way Biden can win again in 2024. Or by some miracle he wakes up and stops being a racist and starts to support American traditions and American history. He needs to get rid of his racist press secretary first of all Karine Jean Pierre is one of the ugliest Americans to ever fill that position.

Over half of the country does not have $1000 to their name. Robert F Kennedy Junior brought that up he’s probably the only hope the Democrats have right now.
