Republicans have a long history of despising the individual, but their love affair with Rick Santorum has only solidified this fact. Republicans are some of the biggest control freaks on this planet and no wonder why the vehemently oppose Ron Paul, since he allows individuals to control themselves.

Republicans hate this, since they fight for control over they individual. They need control. They need hierarchy. They need a state. Republicans despise the individual. The individual is an anomaly to their hierarchical state in which they seek comfort.

The idea of individuals freely pursuing their own values without Republican brings fear. They cannot the individual. They despise the individual, and hence look towards the state. They reject individuals like Ron Paul and embrace statist freaks like Santorum, all while championing their crusade of individual liberty..

However they are scared of liberty and always been. They need shelter from the uncertainty of the individual. They need hierarchy. They someone to tell them what is moral and what is not.

Republicans despise the individual and seek the the state all while dressing up how they are for limited statehood. This is a lie. Most Republicans cannot handle the uncertainty of the individual and limited statism. Therefore, they seek control.

I believe the OP suffers :

Psychological projection

Psychological projection or projection bias is a psychological defense mechanism where a person subconsciously denies his or her own attributes, thoughts, and emotions, which are then ascribed to the outside world, usually to other people. Thus, projection involves imagining or projecting the belief that others originate those feelings.[1]
