Charles Capps was one teacher on the subject of faith that Jesus led me to study by way of his books years ago - he is an excellent teacher to teach you the power of faith and the spoken word in prayer. The power of the spoken Word is something we must all take hold of. You all will benefit from his teaching on faith and the matter of prayer if you will listen to him. He is a very practical teacher and he is more recent then William Gurnall so this may be more to your liking. Some of you were asking for some teaching that was more modern as in this century. So get some paper and a pencil out because you will want to take notes for this teaching. It is quite excellent. Enjoy!

The purpose of this thread is to share someone who I believe has made the teaching of prayer - how to pray and get answers to prayer - very simple to understand! Everything Charles teaches is according to bible scripture and he was probably one of the best teachers I know that can really break down exactly why the spoken Word is so important and how to be mindful not to undo our own prayers by speaking negatively over our situation. If you will listen to him for one video I believe you will see the value in what he has to say! What have you got to lose? Nothing. What have you got to gain? Everything! I'm only going to put up two of his teachings. This one is on the power of words and is so very important to understand as you will see, this is why you never want to speak negative words over your children, you must speak life, positive words, speak God's word over them and over your situation. As Jesus said, you'll have whatever you say. So speak life!

Ninja007, I agree with you that the prosperity gospel is a false gospel and that Christians are not to be seeking after anything that is of the world. This world is not our home and we should not be acting as if it were. Charles Capps is no longer living. I believe the Holy Spirit is confirming to me it is better not to use Capps teachings so I will obey Him on that. Thank you.

I feel the Holy Spirit is confirming to me that it is best not to use Charles Capps teachings. I had books by him that were written decades ago. It is possible that what you are saying is true - that even he went off track with intrepretation of Scripture - that can happen to any preacher - and so I will not be using Charles Capps material again - even if it is from decades ago as it would not be using wisdom. Thank you for the heads up.

* There are preachers in Nigeria who started out well, preaching the Word of God staight from Scripture and the LORD has been sending them warnings that they have left the Gospel to preach lies now and will be in hell for misleading the people. Jesus has warned them to repent and go back to preaching the Gospel and I hope they will do that. Jesus told a woman in Sierra Leone that there were only 3 preachers in Nigeria who are now preaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and all the rest have gone the way preaching something else - such as prosperity - or they refuse to preach on hell, on repentance, holiness, obedience, prayer, living a pure and holy life.

Three preachers in Nigeria are left that preach the true message of the cross now. That is better than America. In America I only know of Michael Boldea Jr. and a man named Paul Washer and the latter I do not know much about but what I have heard is that he is not compromising with sin and is preaching holiness. That is the hour we are in. It is a sign of how far spread apostacy is on the earth.

While he was still speaking, there came a crowd, and the man called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He drew near to Jesus to kiss him, but Jesus said to him, “Judas, would you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?” And when those who were around him saw what would follow, they said, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?” And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear. But Jesus said, “No more of this!” And he touched his ear and healed him. Then Jesus said to the chief priests and officers of the temple and elders, who had come out against him, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs? When I was with you day after day in the temple, you did not lay hands on me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”

Then they seized him and led him away, bringing him into the high priest's house, and Peter was following at a distance. And when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat down among them. Then a servant girl, seeing him as he sat in the light and looking closely at him, said, “This man also was with him.” But he denied it, saying, “Woman, I do not know him.” And a little later someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not.” And after an interval of about an hour still another insisted, saying, “Certainly this man also was with him, for he too is a Galilean.” But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are talking about.” And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed. And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the saying of the Lord, how he had said to him, “Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.

Now the men who were holding Jesus in custody were mocking him as they beat him. They also blindfolded him and kept asking him, “Prophesy! Who is it that struck you?” And they said many other things against him, blaspheming him.

When day came, the assembly of the elders of the people gathered together, both chief priests and scribes. And they led him away to their council, and they said, “If you are the Christ, tell us.” But he said to them, “If I tell you, you will not believe, and if I ask you, you will not answer. But from now on the Son of Man shall be seated at the right hand of the power of God.” So they all said, “Are you the Son of God, then?” And he said to them, “You say that I am.” Then they said, “What further testimony do we need? We have heard it ourselves from his own lips.”
