For many years, the TSA function was done by contractors until the Democrats blackmailed Dubya into hiring federal employees for the task after 9/11. Contractors did NOT fail on 9/11 at all. It was legal to carry boxcutters on planes in 2001. Who would have even thought it was suspicious, some Arab gentlemen with boxcutters on them? Monday morning quarterbacking we know different now. But at the time, I would have thought the guys worked at 7/11 and it was just a tool of their trade.
