Price Is No Longer an Obstacle to Clean Power

That's how they do it in communist/dictator countries.
If it really, "paid for itself?" They would not need to do it.

It really is simple logic for anyone that has passed a high school economics class.

What really bothers me, which James did not bring up in his report, is that the largest land owners in the nation, are in fact, billionaire elites.
So? If they really believed in this, and thought it was economically beneficially? If price really is, "no longer an obstacle?"

Why the hell are they not volunteering their own land for these initiatives? Why are they even talking about, "eminent domain?" :dunno:

I disagree, what Beal states is within the parameters of the stated title of this thread.
Might not be what was intended by the OP, but valid nonetheless. No matter what you
may think.
Wrong and I said why.
And you can only even try and defend ONE of his FOUR Wack-a-doogle ConspiracYst Distractions

AGAIN and UNADDRESSED in your usual LARGE GRAPHIC TROLLING off topic posting HABIT/ REPEAT VIOLATION:

1. Might make a Nice Thread Start though. ie, "Eminent Domain proposed by JP Morgan chief in Renewable transition"
But you don't do that.

2. And for Good measure MisterShpeale throws in the "Trilateral commission" and "NWO" Conspiracy as you are typical USMB MAGA-QAnon Moron!

3. And the WAY OFF TOPIC "White House and Pentagon Leaks" - FvKKING FREAK SHOW!

4. And the "Jeffrey Epstein" case!

This thread is about the cost drop in renewables in the last decade.
UNADDRESSED.

And you'll please note another one of MisterBeale's tactics: Putting up Huge Graphics to try and Bury his opponents with Bullshlt.

AS long as he had on topic points to his post, (which he did) he can throw in whatever he wants.
You've been on this board long enough to understand the guidelines.
Eminent domain would certainly drop prices. That's a no brainer

4. And the "Jeffrey Epstein" case!
The man that has proposed that the government needs to start with Eminent Domain, has links to the Epstein case, IMO? He is compromised. What don't you get about government corruption?

How many bank bailouts and financial shenanigans do we need, before the public says enough? This is what both the Occupy protests on the left, and the Tea Party protests on the right, were all about. This is one of the few issues everyone agrees on, that the folks that are really in control, are destroying the nation. . . and this is evidence, that this guy, and the interests behind this, are corrupt. . .

I'm just posting evidence that there is more to this, than, AGW. . .

:dunno:

Two US banking giants which launched accounts in the UK have been ranked among the “worst” providers by researchers because of their policies on issues such as the climate crisis and weapons.

Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase both scored poorly due to their records on the environment, human rights and paying tax, according to a new study by Ethical Consumer magazine.

Both of the banks were downgraded by the ethical organisation largely because of their investment in fossil fuels in the latest study, which scrutinises financial institutions’ practices against a range of criteria.
Gentle reminder here: that Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, and Jamie Dimon are well known pathological liars.

They are not "the government." They corrupt our governments for their gain alone. They are not Democrats. They've certainly bribed both Democratic and Republican Party representatives.. just like practically every other giant corporation and billionaire. They don't give two shits about preserving the environment, serving their customer's interests, or any other such nonsense. All they care about is how to manipulate others into increasing their pay and profits.

They needed to be broken up and their billionaire leaders jailed decades ago. Neither major Party having done squat about that because no one has forced them to. Hey, look over there! Quick, while it's still bleeding! And you'll just keep sitting here, sucking in the noise, pointing your fingers all over the place, spreading stupid conspiracy theories, blaming everyone else till the cows come home. Exactly what they desire most. Great job. Whose Streets?

So you are an Anarchist.
Wanting to break up large financial Banks/institutions (which help the USA position internationally) into a mess of small failure-prone village ones.

LOL, anti-trust is not anarchy.
Roosevelt had decried “the ruthless manipulation of professional gamblers and the corporate system” that allowed “a few powerful interests to make industrial cannon fodder of the lives of half the population.” He made it plain that he would go after the “economic nobles,” and a bank panic on the day of his inauguration, in March 1933, gave him just the mandate he sought to attack the economic crisis in his “First 100 Days” campaign. “There must be an end to a conduct in banking and in business which too often has given to a sacred trust the likeness of callous and wrongdoing,” he said.
The same occurred in 2008 thanks to Bill Clinton:
In 1999, a Republican Congress and Democratic president, Bill Clinton, repealed two key sections of the Glass-Steagall Act. This repeal eliminated most of the remaining barriers that stopped commercial banks from engaging in investment activities. After the financial crash in 2008, however, some economists and politicians claimed the repeal of the Glass-Steagall provisions had led to a return to high-risk speculation by large commercial banks. As a result, the banks faced failure and had to be bailed out by the U.S. government.
Quit arguing with me. I'm on your side, dopey. Always have been.

EEA report confirms: electric cars are better for climate and air quality

Battery electric cars emit less greenhouse gases and air pollutants over their entire life cycle than petrol and diesel cars, according to a European Environment Agency (EEA) report, published today. Promoting renewable energy and circular economy — including the shared use of vehicles and...

One third of motorists can't charge at home

What do we do about all the people who can’t charge an EV at home?

Two-thirds of US drivers can charge at home—that leaves plenty who can't.

Price of EV second hand market -

Is demand for electric cars declining? We look into the data

By the middle of this month, the average used EV advertised price on Auto Trader was £34,197. While this is far higher than the average across all fuel types collectively (£17,880), it is a 9.1 per cent decline in value compared to mid-February 2021.

Renewables can't react quickly to demand. Did you know, renewables to supply the equivalent electric that a nuclear plant generates, needs 450 times more land space.

1. The price of EVs, just dropped 20% THIS month when Tesla cut prices and forced everyone else down too. Used EVs are still a very thin market.
1a. I already have a very recent thread on Prices and it's now lower.

2. Only a third of homes having chargers would allow 10x the EVs there are now.

3. Renewables do take app 400x Nuke space.....
3a. But they take about the SAME or Less than Fossil Fuels.. and are cleaner and cheaper... and carbon Neutral

How Much Land Would it Require to Get Most of Our Electricity from Wind and Solar?

A recent study from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory offers a detailed and heartening answer.

4. We could get All of our power from Solar Alone covering an area Only as big as Lake Michigan!
Spread over the country that's Nothing.

"...Solar's abundance and potential throughout the United States is staggering: PV panels on just 22,000 square miles of the nation's total land area – about the size of Lake Michigan – could supply enough electricity to power the entire United States.".."

4a. Call it 50% With Wind and some NG back up, that's really nothing. 10,000 sq miles. Or 100x100 miles spread out over the whole country.

And keep in mind there are other non-emitting sources as well and which aren't limited to daylight hours: wind, nuclear, waves.

I love the ignorant, add the capacity factor alone, and that becomes 220,000 square miles.

and of course, lets not forget that on cloudy days, 220,000 square miles of solar panels will cause rise and fall in amperage that is impossible to manage, burning up the grid and leaving the entire country without electricity, for months, if not forever.
