Pres. to pull a spate of security clearances from X intel heads...Brennan's ticket done been punched

Does the protection of the nation depend on partisanship. I don't think so. You can't toss their years of knowledge out the door unless they are like Trump, a traitor.

Oh for Christ's sakes. Trump and every POTUS can have security clearances removed when people leave their posts.

You sure are one dumb jackass.
You're the one playing dumb. Get some education on this. Not just from InfoWars, either.

No you are the one who's a jackass.

Explain to all of us why someone leaving Govt. should keep a security clearance??

If they need one, another can be issued.

You really are a jackass.
Calling me a jackass doesn't make you right. You're making all kinds of misstatements here. It has been traditional for people to keep their clearances unless there is a valid reason to have it revoked. Saying something the POTUS doesn't like is NOT a valid reason.
If you want to change the policies of the intelligence agencies that have always stood regarding security clearances, by all means talk to them about it. It's never been a big issue on my list before, but if it covers your president's ass, I can see where it would suddenly be high on your list of priorities.

You aren't worth anyone's time because you can't see anything.

If you aren't in Govt. you don't need a security clearance. Get that through your pea brain.

What a biased moron you are.

How long is a secret security clearance good for?
A Periodic Reinvestigation (PR) is required every 5 years for a TOP SECRET Clearance, 10 years for a SECRET Clearance or 15 years for a CONFIDENTIAL Clearance. However, civilian and military personnel of DOD can be randomly reinvestigated before they are due for a PR.May 28, 2018

So you are basically saying security checks , top secret are partisan and should be. I do hope you remember all this stuff when a Democrat gets in the WH.

Remember whatever is ok for Trump, is ok for the next Democratic Potus.

These individuals used their clearance as a foundation to go from criticism to sedition and sold that sedition on the strength of the foundation.

They should never have been allowed to keep those clearances.

Shut Brennan down (done), discredit his partisan vitriol & let the next one (Mr. Mike - P) step into the role and absorb the ideological rhetoric... 'Enough said...' Lets be done with the 'peanut gallery'...! :)

Okay. It's on record that I tried to inform Claudette of what is actually taking place. She don't wanna listen. What a shock.

We don't do that in this country. Or at least not before Trump.

Whats happened is people not working for the Govt. will have their security clearances revoked.

Not hard of course you have to use your brain.

If you don't work for the US Govt. then you don't need a security clearance.

If you used to work for the US Govt. and now don't you don't need a security clearance and shouldn't have one.

You no longer work for the US Govt.

If you don't have security clearance, high enough security clearance, you don't get to look at secret stuff.

If you don't work for the US Govt. you certainly don't get to look at secret stuff.

If they do need you to look at secret stuff as a former Govt. worker, then they will issue you a new security clearance.

That's what I understand.

Brennan spied on congess and lied to them about doing it. What exactly does he need a security clearance from? It is not like he is going to walk into the CIA today or tomorrow and go back to work. Having a security clearance after leaving was an oversight of the government and they should have revoked everyone as they walked out the door. If for some unforeseen reason one of them suddenly needed the clearance again it would not be that hard to reinstate.

If you work at a company they don't allow you to keep the company car, they don't allow the CEO to keep the company jet. You don't get to take your desk and chair when you leave. Most companies don't let you walk out the door with your computer under your arm.

But some want to see this as an act of aggression or some other crazy spin. It is simply a matter of finally doing what should have been done from the vary start.

I don't understand why Congress didn't have the US Marshalls arrest Brenner on the spot.

Brenner was a co-conspirator in a genuine coup d'etat

President Donald Trump on Wednesday revoked the security clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan, who has become a harsh critic of the president, and appeared to be targeting others who have disagreed with the administration.

“Mr. Brennan’s lying and recent conduct characterized by increasingly frenzied commentary is wholly inconsistent with access to the nation’s most closely held secrets and facilities, the very aim of our adversaries which is to sow division and chaos,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said, reading a statement from Trump while briefing reporters on Wednesday.

“Mr. Brennan has recently leveraged his status as a former high-ranking official with access to highly sensitive information to make a series of unfounded and outrageous allegations — wild outbursts on the internet and television — about this Administration,“ the president‘s statement continued.

In addition, Sanders said, the administration is evaluating clearances for former FBI Director James Comey, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former National Security Agency Director Michael Hayden, former national security adviser Susan Rice, former FBI attorney Lisa Page, former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, former FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, whose security clearance was deactivated after he was fired earlier this year, and Bruce Ohr, who is still in the Justice Department although he was demoted from associate deputy attorney general.

“More broadly, the issue of Mr. Brennan’s security clearance raises larger questions about the practice of former officials maintaining access to our nation’s most sensitive secrets long after their time in government has ended,” Sanders said.

Brennan later responded on Twitter.

“This action is part of a broader effort by Mr. Trump to suppress freedom of speech & punish critics,” he wrote. “It should gravely worry all Americans, including intelligence professionals, about the cost of speaking out. My principles are worth far more than clearances. I will not relent," he wrote.

While he's at it, I hope Omarosa gets her mouth washed out with soap... (at the very least)!!!
Trump is a coward fearful of warranted dissent and criticism, and seeks to silence justified opposition through intimidation.

This is further proof of how petty Trump is, and that Trump is unfit to be president.

WHen you leave your position as Gov. YOU LOSE it . omfg are you people serioulsy that clueless....

Think of the logic allowing those who no longer work at a security cl. job getting to keep it once they leave. give me a fkn break.....

People in the military lose their clearance often once they get out unless they find a job that requires them to keep it .

No one has had anything removed. Brennan has not had his first amendment rights revoked. He has not been thrown into prison. He has not had anyone even suggest that he lose money, a job, or any of his possessions. He has lost a security clearance that he is not using and has no need for. Why is it we do not allow every contractor, past administration members or others retain their clearance? What is so special about a security clearance that is not being used?

You seem to be upset just because you want to throw hysterical allegations around. The sky is falling, we are all going to die because the government finally is fixing something that has been an oversight. It was customary for police to get meals for free, get liquor given at at Christmas. I did not see you going into hysterics over those practices being changed.

You mean like using the IRS and the FBI as weapons to silence the opposition?

You don't have a clue Don't PRETEND you do. There is a 'legal' and/or INTEL process to strip away someones security clearance. I'm sure Brennan is consulting a NON-HOSTILE lawyer at the agency or even in the civilian security to see if Trump can pull it.

Stay tuned, there's more coming on this one!

Yes. It's one thing being called a pig or a dog, but this is going beyond the pale and I hope he gets in trouble for it.

Gets in trouble for what exactly?

The conventional (also known as correct and intelligent) wisdom is to have as many experienced, knowledgeable, and patriotic eyes looking at intel; hearing as many different voices as you can, and making the decision based on rock hard analysis; not on how “strong” or how enamored you are with foreign leaders or what personal score you have to settle with a foreign nation. More people with clearances is a good thing as long as they are vetted and not named Jared Kushner.

Stripping people’s credentials makes us weaker; not stronger. Thus, it’s a bad idea.

That being said In terms of Trump-esque bad ideas, this is several megatons less than Spaceforce, legalized kidnapping, giving farmers who are already subsidized another $12B dollars we’ll never see again, adding a Trillion to the debt to give he and his buddies more tax breaks, and dozen other major fuck ups. Essentially, its a nothing burger. I’m surprised there is a thread started about it…i
The correct AND intelligent wisdom is that any and all intel analysis is conducted by none partisan, neutral people. Many have proven that they are anything but.

I don't know why it is not the standard procedure that at that level when you leave a post, you lose your clearance. I certainly did when I left.

Security clearances work on a need to know. Even if your clearance is the highest in the land, if you do not need to know, you don't get access to the information.

This was a good idea left to fester for far too long.

This admin needs to pull the clearances from anyone in the intelligence community not working directly on projects.
