I employed parental software when my kids were home. But, back then there wasn't "private windows" also known in Chrome as 'Incognito window". Kids can use that, and a parent can't see what they are viewing. That didn't exist when my kids were young. VPNs existed back then, but virtually no one knew it and they were all a paid service then.
