Poll: Most Democrats Seldom Or Never Attend Church...

May God bless you all with peace and may he also soften your hearts. Night.

You know... I pray the same thing at night for the "let them eat cake" Conservatives out there. I pray that God will soften their hearts and see the error in their ways. The attitudes I see from Conservatives on this board, combined with their judgmentalism and lack of caring makes me worry for their souls.

I mean, I worry for non-believers too.. but at the same time...they aren't claiming to be Christians.

As a matter a fact, thats exactly what they think, and that's why I'd rather cut my dick off, than vote for one of them.

Ahhhh.... I see. Let me ask you this... What if your faith in your church and what IT feels is the important parts of the bible detracts you from Gods true message through his son Jesus Christ?

Because personally... that's exactly what I think is the problem. Christ never said.. "let the poor beg in the streets and fend for themselves". Christ never said "if there are people who act differently than you, you should judge them with a vengeful eye". Christ never said "Wealth is the measure of a person's worth, so the rich are to be seen as demigods".

In fact, Christ stuck up for the dregs of society.....From Matthew 25:

The Sheep and the Goats

31“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’

41“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45“He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

"Judge not, lest ye be judged".... "Remove the log from your own eye before telling another about the speck in theirs"...The turning over of the money changing tables in the temple... Healing Lepers(who were considered to be suffering because of their own sins in that age).

I fear that my Conservative Brethren in Christ have got Christ's message totally wrong. so... either the bible is wrong or Conservative Christianity is.

Where in the teachings of Christ does He say we should delegate our personal responsibility towards the poor and less fortunate to any Government?

Don't quote a book you have no concept of. Christ's teachin gs are about each individual helping our fellow man and to do it gladly and willingly.

Idiot.

Bullshit.... Sodom and Gomorrah? Jonah and Nineveh? Don't sit there and tell me God did not punish entire lands for their wickedness. YOU just want it to be about the individual... but if we are a Christian Country... then we are all accountable.

This little girl gets it... why can't you?

Libocalypse now, aka Paulitician,

Did you pray on it before you decided to retread a new screen-name? Did you ask God for guidance in your identity crisis, that you were having?

Anyhoo, Religion is alright. Non-Religion is alright, also.

Honestly, it doesn't, but if the government is the means through which people work, so be it.

Not going to church does not negate a belief in a supreme being.

If Gaia needs leftists to impose draconian laws to protect her, can you really call her supreme?

She seems like a little sniveling bitch to me. No wonder Zeus raped her at will.

Thanks for reminding me about a little skit by George Carlin, maybe you've heard of him?
When it comes to bullshit, big-time, major league bullshit, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims, religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest bullshit story ever told. Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more. Now, you talk about a good bullshit story. Holy Shit!

It is funny that you include liberty and God in the same sentence.

The concepts of individual liberty come from the Christian religion.

Why do you think it sprang forth from Western Europe? Happenstance? The reformation destroyed the monarchies. The left still fears the concepts on liberty and attack Christianity as a foundational basis.

Imposing authoritarian rule on those who don't recognize your authority is impossible. The dream of the left depends on the dissolution of all authority save the state.

I do understand the bitterness and hostility that inevitably gets expressed on the issue of Faith. People who turn away from God tend to get very bitter and cynical. But a return to God is exactly what they need to bring peace back to their lives. It's hard for them to realize this though. It usually takes a big & dramatic event in their life to begin considering a return. Just find a good Church and get back to God. He's always there ready to welcome you back.

I really do believe this is more important than most like to think. I truly believe the further you move away from God,the more lost you become. I think Church is important.

I think those who would see the country go down over ideology are the lost ones. Take the tax debate. Even small revenue enhancements that would help to balance the books, are sacrificed on the altar of ideology. It's simple math. We need to go at it from both sides and ignore those who would say otherwise. We're nearly all socialists, anyway. It's just a matter of degree. We don't have time to coddle those who would stand on debateable "principle", while Rome burns.

No, the concepts of individual liberty came from the Magna Carta.

Good thing I work in the field of astrophysics and cosmology then, huh. Thanks for spreading all this misinformation though.

Psst, I want to let you in on a secret; pouring the pigment in the machine that makes astroturf isn't really considered "working in the astrophysics field."

Ad hominem then?

At least I know you can't come up with a good argument.

Don't pay any attention. He's jealous because he just "works in the field".:lol::lol:

ROFL

You might actually take a peek at the Magna Carta some day.

{1. In the first place we have granted to God, and by this our present charter confirmed for us and our heirs forever that the English Church shall be free,}

Standard Disclaimer: Bigotry blinds, even those with an agenda.

If you think God is the reason they wrote that charter, you're more blind than you could imagine.

Here is a distinction between us, I've actually read the document. It is a highly religious document that references rights as being granted by God on dozens of occasions. Your attempt to cast the Magna Carta as a secular document is just as amusing to me as Nick stating that Tachyons are Gamma rays is to you - for exactly the same reason.
