PolitiFact's "Lie of the Year" Turns Out to Be True

:cuckoo: Fail! - Lies! - Car companies are not paying taux in this country. :cuckoo:

Oh I'm sure Ford never has to be concerned about the corporate tax rate.

the effect was a $612 million hit to net income, Shanks said.

In its Asia and Africa region, where the company is spending billions to expand in China and India, Ford posted a $95 million first-quarter loss.

Care to try that one again?

Notice how you lie & divert from Chrysler to Ford! Ford like the other companies are still tax leach. They are subsidized because we have socialism for auto companies in this country to offset 25% import tax in China. OMFG Ford says they may have to pay $612 million in tax.

Hey dumbass!! If you are going to leave a reply, at least have the common sense to be able to follow the discussion on a thread. I was replying to Seawytch's comment regarding Chrysler by bringing what I knew about Ford also building in China INTO the discussion.

You idiots need to read the original politifact article. It talked about Jeep manufacturing autos in China...for the Chinese.
I had seen the same thing coming from Ford actually. Exactly why now are you finding FORD, then JEEP, choosing China to start building it's next production plant? Where are all the big plans to invest capital into a large assembly line in the United States, to look to American workers? Could it be government regulations? What are the tax rates for businesses that are established and BUILT in the United States, compared to simply investing in China?

Ford also did not need a bailout in 2009 as they were already in a better financial position than GMC OR Chrysler. Where in the world did you get this loony dumb idea that Ford would close its doors if the other automakers (Chrysler, GMC) didn't receive THEIR bailout from the government? Did you really hit your head that hard? :cuckoo:

Retards keep whining about fake tax problem in this country when China is the one taxing us out of jobs. We must fight trade tariffs with trade tariffs & not let it destroy us because you retards have no clue. :cuckoo: We have to build car companies in China to get around their import tax, not US corporate tax.

I know you are having trouble grasping this whole corporate tax thing, as your obviously blinded by your liberal ideology. Let's see if this bit of information helps you to really understand how taxes can have an effect upon a nation's economy.

1. Swedish Corporate Taxation; Up-date & News

The Swedish corporate tax rate has been REDUCED from 28% to 26.3%, applicable for financial years starting 1 January 2009, or later (the reduction in part financed by the new anti-debt push down restrictions).

The ABOLISHED capital gains taxation for corporates a few years ago has under the participation exemption provisions made Sweden a favourable holding company location. Capital gains on shares held for business reasons are, thus, tax exempt for corporates and losses are not deductible. The tax exemption also include dividends on such shares.

Sweden overtakes the US in competitiveness
Economy - Published Wednesday, 16 February 2011 05:46 | Author: Johan Nylander

Sweden is the world’s second most competitive country, according to the World Economic Forum’s last ranking. The Scandinavian country was praised for its transparency, efficient financial markets and world-leading adoption of technology.

Switzerland topped the overall ranking in The Global Competitiveness Report 2010-2011. Sweden overtook the US and Singapore this year to be placed 2nd overall.

Sweden benefits from the world’s most transparent and efficient public institutions, with very low levels of corruption and undue influence. The government is also considered to be one of the most efficient in the world (that leaves the United States Federal Government out. This administration isn't serious about controlling wasteful spending, passing budgets, and lowering the national debt), stated the report.

“Combined with a strong focus on education over the years (ranked 2nd for higher education and training) (that won't happen here as long as we have unions and teacher tenure placed at greater importance over students' education) and the world’s strongest technological adoption (ranked 1st in technological readiness), Sweden has developed a very sophisticated business culture (2nd) and is one of the world’s leading innovators (ranked 5th)", said the World Economic Forum in its report.

U.S. Manufacturing Moving Overseas – The New Wave
Posted on September 13, 2011 by China Briefing

Op-Ed Commentary: Chris Devonshire-Ellis

Sept. 13 – Recent data showing that that old bug-bear, the U.S.-China trade imbalance, is diminishing is partially good news – not least for American politicians who like to defer domestic issues by pointing fingers overseas. “It’s all their fault!” is the world’s longest running, and possibly oldest human statement.

But jobs remain a concern, and this regrettably is going to be a feature of the American economy for some time. There has been plenty of talk about the Chinese economy recalibrating from being an export-based economy to a consumer-based economy. Everyone agrees this is taking place, will take time, and it remains central government policy. In the democratic United States, longer-term policy is more difficult to assess. Yet market forces are dictating that America must change – it simply cannot retain such a large manufacturing base as costs in the United States are just too expensive.

They had cash
GM and Chrysler had the tax payer and GWB on there side
for better or worse, GWB saved them, not BHO
In my opinion the worst event of his presidency
what makes it bad is BHO took credit for it

What did Bush do to ‘save’ GM and Chrysler? It was Obama that funneled the money to them.

First of all it was the tax payer, not either
but the truth is GM and Chrysler never makes it out of 2008 without GWB "loaning" the billions
he also allowed a vote in congress to turn the rest of the tarp monies over to BHO before he left office
At the end of 2008, General Motors and Chrysler were bleeding billions of dollars a month, and nobody in the private sector wanted to lend to them. Even the supposedly liberal Brookings Institution put out a report saying they should be allowed to go bust, with their factories and machinery being sold off to the highest bidder. Today, things look very different. A few weeks ago, General Motors reported that it made $7.6 billion in profit last year. Even Chrysler, which is now controlled by Fiat, made money in 2011. So Biden was telling the truth when he said, in reference to the Republican candidates, that the President “made the tough call… [he] was right, and they were dead wrong.”

The only problem with Biden’s history lesson is that the “man with steel in his spine” he referred to should have been George W. Bush, not Barack Obama. Lest we forget, it was Bush rather than Obama who initiated the government rescue of the auto companies.

On December 19, 2008, a week after Republicans in the Senate had killed a bailout bill proposed by Democrats, saying it didn’t impose big enough wage cuts on the U.A.W., Bush unilaterally agreed to lend $17.4 billion of taxpayers’ money to General Motors and Chrysler, of which $13.4 billion was to be extended immediately. He had to twist the law to get the money. Deprived of congressional funding, he diverted cash from the loathed TARP program, which Congress had already passed, but which was supposed to be restricted to rescuing the banks. “I didn’t want there to twenty-one-per-cent unemployment,” he said to a meeting of the National Automobile Dealers Association in Las Vegas last month, explaining why he acted as he did. “I didn’t want history to lo
