For those who say "the police will protect you." Um, no, they don't have to.

City says cops had no duty to protect subway hero Joseph Lozito who subdued killer Maksim Gelman and was stabbed seven times in process - NYPOST.com

The city routinely settles such litigation but is playing hardball with Lozito, insisting his demand for unspecified money damages be tossed because the police had no “special duty” to protect him or any individual on the train that day.

Mindful of the Catholic hospital which denied in a malpractice suit that fetuses are human beings. Starting a thread suggesting a universal truth based on one source is a kind of self serving propaganda don't you thin ... er... believe?

What this shows is the hypocricy of NYC in denying most people the right to carry, while also saying the police dont have to save your ass if you are in trouble.

Granted, the subway would be off limits for concealed carry anyway, but once they remove the right to carry arms to protect yourself, they should be responsible for your safety.

The Supreme Court has ruled that the police have no duty to protect.

The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that the police did not have a constitutional duty to protect a person from harm, even a woman who had obtained a court-issued protective order against a violent husband making an arrest mandatory for a violation.

Best to prepare to protect yourself and your family. If a cop happens to stop a bad guy first, great, but don't count on it.
