I was going on the general basis of indie actress versus model. Surely you can't argue that there are, or have been, anorexic models now or in the past? Just as I can't argue that most indie actresses think they're changing the world by acting in movies.

Oh, and by the way, I'm putting Scarlett Johannsen on my list. She's bumping... Maggie Gyllenhall, I guess.

BTW - Laetitia Casta is an actress as well, and has recieved notoriety acting alongside the likes of Gerard Depardieu, Claude Pieplu & John Malkovich.

Anyway, talk about hot models aside, I did see this movie (got it on DVD for Christmas). Very good flick. I can see why Kiera is on your top 5, Dan... though her eyes seem a little bit weird for some reason.

my stepdaughter got this movie for xmas (she's into the 'johnny depp is so hot' arena) and I gotta agree that all the wierd characters that depp creates and acts on, Captain Jack Sparrow is the best he's ever done. The almost feminine swagger, the crazy verbage, and that makeup are too funny. He's the highlight of this movie. give it an 8.5

I have just watched the film on dvd and was far from impressed. It didn't do a thing for me at all.

But the I enjoy films from the "Beautiful Mind" genre, so who am I to judge.

Bite your tongue, sir! Edward Scissorhands was great, really original and very picturesque, classic Tim Burton.

That said, my favorite Johnny Depp role is probably Ed Wood, though he wasn't really THAT weird in that one.

Johnny Depp just got nominated for an Oscar for his role in this. That's cool, though I don't think he'll win. He's just a little too weird for mainstream awards. Then again, I thought he was too weird for a disney movie, so there you go.
