People getting fired

For what they do on their own time, things that are in no way job related. Does anyone have a problem with that?

please don't make this about politics, it applies to all parties.

If your employer has a stated policy that no drug use will be tolerated, and you knew that when you hired on, then no, I have no problem with that.

So you don't agree with this statement:
People getting fired For what they do on their own time, things that are in no way job related.

Don't change the subject. Your stance here has been we should take no action on allegations/information about wrongdoing until there is a guilty verdict by the courts. The accusation itself is not the argument you've made.
The two women have made serious accusations that have not returned a guilty verdict. You believe Broderick but not Willoughby. Why?

I believe both of them, but you only believe one. see how that works?
You, too, are trying to change the subject. A lot easier to argue about the old Clinton allegations than to deal with a real live concern that is laying dead at Trump's front door.
Nice deflection but I'm not playing.

what did Trump personally have to do with this? Is he responsible for the personal activities of every government employee?

Peoples lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation. Some are true and some are false. Some are old and some are new. There is no recovery for someone falsely accused - life and career are gone. Is there no such thing any longer as Due Process?

THAT is what he has to do with it. Besides the fact that as the President, "the buck stops here" with personnel working in the WH. They knew. They ignored it 'til they got caught. I'm sure Michael Flynn would still be there, too, if the media hadn't sniffed it out.

tell us exactly how YOU know that they all knew, including Trump, that this guy had hit his wives and girlfriend. YOU said that they all knew, tell us how YOU know that.
I believe It is alleged he hit one wife. The ‘girlfriend’ is a mystery, we don’t know who she is, and I read that she contacted the wives and was asking questions about how they coped etc. The ‘girlfriend’ could be anyone at this point.

Is he responsible for that dude hitting a woman? No. He's not responsible for that woman getting a black eye.

However..........................

He IS responsible for hiring him, and having a known spouse abuser is bad for business as it doesn't look good. Neither is it very secure, because his ex wives said that he could possibly be open to blackmail because of his abuse. THAT is the reason he's catching so much heat. He's hiring someone who could possibly be compromised quite easily into a Top Secret position.
What does that have to do with the price of coal in China?

If Porter has stuff in his background that can make him vulnerable to being blackmailed (and spouse abuse qualifies), he has no business anywhere near classified information.

what makes him vulnerable exactly? play it out for us how he can be blackmailed.

Well, if he had managed to pass his security clearance and nothing came up, there could be some kind of operatives out there who would find out about his spousal abuse, and then threaten to tell his boss (Kelley), if he didn't start giving them information. The fact that we found out about it now is what stopped him from getting one.

Okay- people getting fired for testing positive for marijuana.

Not on any evidence that pot use 3 days before is hurting their job performance.

So you don't agree with this statement:

coming to work with drugs in your blood is not "on your own time".

If the drugs are not affecting their job performance- how is 'job related'? Certainly doing the drugs was on their own time.

People getting fired For what they do on their own time, things that are in no way job related.

Certainly that is very different from a company that has a policy that says employees can be fired for actions away from the company that could affect the company's public image.

Well we know now that the White House knew about the allegations of spousal abuse and hadn't rescinded his temporary security clearance.

Clearly this became public, the Trump administration didn't consider the spousal abuse allegations to be an issue either.

OK, let me go slow and use small words.

if the company has a no drug policy and you are informed of that policy when you hire on, and you are informed that you will be randomly drug tested and fired if you test positive, then that becomes part of your employment contract. Doesn't matter if it affects your job performance. You agreed to it and are subject to those rules.

do you know the meaning of the word "allegations"?

Okay- so you initial statement
People getting fired For what they do on their own time, things that are in no way job related.

Wasn't actually accurate.

You would then also agree of course that if company policy says that employees can be fired for actions outside of work that would potentially embaress or cause bad publicity for a company- such as publicity about wife beating or say marching in Nazi regalia in a parade.

Oh certainly.

Like the allegations against Al Franken. And the allegations against Harvey Weinstein. And the allegations against Donald Trump.

All 'allegations'.

wrong again, try to pay attention. Coming to work with drugs in your blood is NOT an action outside of work.

some are allegations, some have been proven with pictures or other documentation. The Trump/Russia allegations remain nothing but allegations. Allegations that the dems and the lying media have failed to prove for over 2 years.

The lying GOP failed to prove any criminal action after 5 years of Whitewater investigation- except......of course lying about a blowjob- which had nothing to do with Whitewater.

Will Trump eventually be nailed for his lies?

We just don't know.

Odd isn't it that you contards were happy to have years and years pursuing Whitewater, but started whining on day one about the Muehler investigation.

How are 'drugs in your blood' job related if they don't impact job performance?

If they can only be even detected by requiring invasive testing?

What's funny is that Mueller if finding out more dirt on the Clintons, the DNC, and the media than he is about Trump. I say let him continue. What say you?
