The question is will the world and especially the West learn? Israel already knows. It needs to annex the West Bank and get this over with. Initially there may be some faux outrage and blow-back for a few years and then the world will accept it as reality and see that things are better this way, even for the Palestinians in the West Bank, and move on.

The Palestinians really do not want a peaceful settlement. Hamas all but threatened to kill President Abbas if he negotiates.

So, it is up to the Palestinians to find a way to derail the talks, such that it looks like either the US or Israeli's fault.

Now, Gardener, there are those of us who believe what the British officials in the area were reporting to Winston Churchill -- that the Arabs were coming in droves from their poverty-stricken countries for jobs that the Jews had for them. Why do you think the Hispanic continually cross the southern border of the U.S. and why do you think the Muslims are flooding into Europe? However, we do realize that there were some Arabs in the area under the Ottoman Empire, and they were tenant farmers of the rich Turkish landowners, Do you really think that tenant farmers get that rich that they are able to buy their own land? No doubt the Arab world was unhappy when they found out that the Turks did sell some land to the Jews. But don't forget -- the Turks are not Arabs.
