In the United States, according to many - especially politicians, adults of the ages of 18 - 20 can not be entrusted with being able to drink alcohol.
--- The interesting story behind this is that when Congress passed the law raising the legal age required to purchase alcohol to the age of 21 due to the extremely high rate of DUIs and DUI-resulting deaths research showed the age bracket with the significantly highest rate / involvement in DUIs and DUI-related deaths was NOT the 18-20yo demographic but rather the 37 - 25yo demographic. Pressured to do something, politicians targeted young Americans rather than the worst offending demographic.

It is interesting that young adults under the age of 21yo serving in the US military, who are allowed to carry weapons, use them, kill, and die in their service to his country can not be entrusted with buying an alcoholic beverage.

Liberals are now calling for the legal age for buying a firearm for an adult American citizen (the very definition of 'infringing upon' their Constitutional Right to own a gun) be raised to 21 years.

If young American Adults can not be entrusted with buying alcohol or buying / owning a gun in the United States until they are 21 years old, and if Congress / Society is really ready to make this law, why stop there?

If you can't be trusted with buying alcohol or buying a gun until you are 21yo then every American should be required to be 21yo to:

o Buy Alcohol

o Buy a Cigarette

o Have sex

o Get Married

o Buy a Gun

o Buy a House

o Join the Military

o Have a cell phone and a car at the same time (Force those under 21 to register them - if you own one you don't get another IOT prevent 'Texting and Driving' accidents / deaths)

o Vote

If you want a hardship license,
require military training and mental disorder screening or rehab in order to bear arms for defense of laws only,
agreement to accept financial and legal responsibility for costs and damages of any infractions of the laws,
and general Constitutional oath to uphold and defend laws to the best of one's ability as a lawabiding citizen.

Then we will see a rush for young people to get educated and trained
on the laws that founded our country, where people and states
take back responsibility and quit inflating federal govt to micromanage laws and resources for us.

21 to but a semi auto pistol

18 to but a semi auto rifle

thats crazy ..

pistols are far more difficult to be accurate with than long guns ...

if youre 18 join the Marines and get both - otherwise stfu and wait until your 21.

'Shall Not Be Infringed'...period.

Parkland, Fl was not an instance where the LAW failed people as much as one in which those entrusted to uphold the law, to serve, and to protect failed people.

I actually agree with you, all those things should be 18 or they should be 21. It is stupid to have two different ages.

And do not forget be able to legally sign a contract.

1. As I said, I bet Florida laws will change now.

2. I am pretty sure no new laws are needed for the Parkland Sheriff and Deputies to have done something after being called to respond to complaints against this guy more than 40 times or for them to respond to the shooting by running in to protect the kids rather than just standing around outside as the Sheriff ordered them to do....

Just saying.

I have no problem with one having to be 21 to serve or do any of those things.....but voting? Have to repeal an Amendment for that one. Good luck.
