your Education dollars at work.... is this America.....?

Robert Small said he wanted to express his dismay over the introduction of a new school curriculum at a public forum Thursday night in Towson, but instead the Ellicott City parent was pulled out of the meeting, arrested and charged with second-degree assault of a police officer.

Small stood and interrupted Baltimore County School Superintendent Dallas Dance during a question-and-answer session and began to tell the audience that he believed the new curriculum was lowering the standards of education and was intended to prepare students for community colleges. "You are not preparing them for Harvard," he said.

....

"Look, I am being manhandled and shut down because I asked inconvenient questions," Small said. "Why won't they allow an open forum where there can be a debate? We are told to sit there and be lectured to about how great common core is."

"The format of the forum did not allow the public to stand and ask a question. Instead, those who wanted questions answered had to write them on a piece of paper. Dance read the questions and had members of a panel, which included state schools Superintendent Lillian Lowery, answer them.

When Small started speaking, Dance told him that he believed his question would be answered, but Small continued to talk. After a couple of minutes, a security guard confronted Small, saying, "Let's go. Let's go."

So again we find another "persecution" article title that is misleading or wrong.

"Small was charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, which carries a fine of $2,500 and up to 10 years in prison, and disturbing a school operation, which carries a fine of $2,500 and up to six months."

If it was so misleading, how come you found those facts in the link?

Yer smart.

I read this several days ago and decided to not bring it here for the reasons you pointed out.

That isn't the point.

Since when are we supposed to sit queitly on our hands and not question those in positions of power?

Since when?

Since when is it a arrestable, imprisonable, prosecutable offense to ask someone in power a question? Are we to sit like good little Nazis and not question authority? Is that how you'd like it?

No doubt.

And do you think for one fucking second anybody else, like for instance, the DISGUSTING FILTH in the LSM was going to question the God obama and His edicts?

Political Meetings get disrupted all the time without anybody going to jail and being charged with a felony.

ALL the time

exactly.....there were a few others who shouted to let him speak....but the rest pretty much sat there and 'saluted'.....they see an 'officer' (why was he there anyway?) come and take the protesting parent by the arm and they shut up and let the school masters show go on...

this is the next incremental step how they silence people and get away with their crap.....eventually people will just 'disappear' like the non--saluting guy in your photo...

They had a system set up that they used before to allow as many questions to be asked in the time frame of the meeting. This ass thought "You're not the boss of me, I DO WHAT I WANT!", stood up out of order, interrupted another speaker and then whined for several minutes before they sent in security. There were no questions, there was no debate, just this little prick mouthing off because he liked the attention and had grabbed "the conch"...heheh.

This is choice though...

"As he was being taken out, Small said, "Don't stand for this. You are sitting here like cattle." Then he said, "Is this America?"

Heheh...what a doofus. Hope he gets jail time.

common core graduate applying for a job...

yeah... 'the system' was to write your questions down and then they chose which questions to read and answer....and they also 'tailored' the questons to ask them the way they wanted them to be asked....are you catching on yet....?

If this guy didnt follow the set-up then he was wrong in the way he handled the situation.
At the sametime that type of set-up is really disgusting. Its tailored for cherry picking and no real info being talked about.

So someone disturbed "the set-up" protocol during a school meeting...like that is something new......is this a valid reason for ARRESTING the concerned parent....?

...it's not like he was shooting or hitting or throwing pies at the school administrator...i didn't see anything of the sort on the video from the time he started his question till the time the 'officer' took him out....

why not just let him get his questions out and then answer them....?
it's because they didn't want to answer them...

Hmmm, no. The questions were filled out on index cards which were shuffled and read in order. The only ones that might have been skipped were the "Show us your boobs" type or dupes.

No, it's to allow the most number of people access to asking a question rather then having the whole hour sucked up by a couple attention grabbing whores like this guy who won't listen, won't shut up or won't sit down when asked.

Because he wasn't the ONLY PERSON THERE WHO SHOWED UP TO ASK A QUESTION.

So fucking ARREST him......? wasn't jerking him out of the room more than enough.....?

Sounds like the actual content and goals of Core Content are misunderstood by wingnuts of all persuasions.

One way or the other, I'm glad this guy rocked the boat. Too bad its not done more often.

Why didn't the school have an open townhall forum that allowed for debate about this new program.....?

obviously they just want to implement it with no disturbing questions being asked...

'cause 'we' know what's best for your kids....parents need not speak....

One, the rules were made know in plenty of time.

Two, the man knew he could have submitted a written question and have it answered.

Three, the man was allowed to rant for almost a minute before security stepped in.

Four, the cop clearly identified himself as such and tried to quiet the situation.

Five, the man continued to argue at the back of the room for almost two minutes.

No one, not Goofy or Dopey or Righty or Lefty or anybody, gets to ignore the rules and disrupt the public business.
