OK, I have binged all of Season 3 after being somewhat surprised that there WAS a Season 3; I thought it was "over" after Season 2. But they have certainly laid the groundwork for Season 4, if the popularity prompts the network to pay for it.

On Season 3, I commend the writers for transitioning the teens - and especially the obligatory insufferable teenage daughter - into real people who were more than simply irritants, as such characters tend to be in modern broadcast fiction.

The story line remains beyond my ken, as I cannot even conceive of a "Mexican" drug operation that generates many hundreds of thousands of dollars per day in illicit profits needing to be laundered, but I either accept it or suspend my disbelief, as one might express it. With a spouse whose career (she is retired) was all bound up with a bank ANTI-money laundering protocols, we are cool with the activity of Marty Byrde, and for the most part his actions are true to life. But to be critical - just for fun - I have a few bones to pick with the writers:

It is inconceivable to me that Marty, Wendy, and Ruth were not ALL carrying concealed firearms ALL THE TIME after the events of Seasons 1 and 2. Especially since they have at their fingertips the means to dispose of any stray cadavers at any time, I just cannot believe that they went through this period unarmed.

Wendy's brother [played by Tom Pelphrey] was often toooooo crazy to be believed. The plot line that he, though crazy, is the only one who sees things as they are, is clever, but his persistently doing things that obviously place the entire Byrde family and Ruth (his beloved) in mortal danger - was too much to accept.

Why was Ruth still living in that dilapidated old trailer? She had to be making good money.

For others who have seen it what do you think? Do you agree with me that it was worth watching?

After a mediocre Season 2, I was skeptical about Season 3. Thought they might Jump the Shark.

I thought Season 3 was spectacular with great writing, plot development, acting and suspense

The final scene was......WTF? :ack-1:

Agree. I thought everyone in the Ozarks was armed

I had the same question about Ruth’s trailer and furnishings. She drives a $50,000 truck but lives in a $1000 trailer. Nice view though.

The brother was kind of annoying. But I guess that was the affect of being bipolar.
Take my drugs or bang Ruth?
Tough decision....guess which head won?

Darlene and the kid creeped me out

Glad to see Helen get her due

I think Darlene and the Kid was inserted (no play on words intended) as a sop to the female boomers in the audience. It makes them think they can still be sexually attractive. Unfortunately, everybody ELSE in the audience was thinking - to quote Jim Varney - eeeeeeww!

I thought the season was very good, but agree that the story gets a
Iittle far fetched at times. The brother’s actions made no sense. He realizes his sister is involved with some very dangerous people, but then does things that further endanger.

I think the acting is very good, particularly the three main characters.

The old lady having sex with the goofy looking kid, is disgusting. What I find funny about the old lady is she acts so tough, yet she has no posse backing her up. She confronts three mobsters all by herself.

I guess in Hollywood today the female has become the tough guy, akin to John Wayne. I get a kick out of women actors who can beat down men twice their size. This seems to be a recurring theme in many Hollywood productions these days.

I always get a “kick” out of females just walking up and kicking a guy in the balls.
As a guy, I know how reflexively you protect your vitals. Not an easy shot.

I find the show to be very entertaining. The season finale was exceptionally satisfying. The redhead and I loved it. We are both looking forward to season 4.

Overall - a good show. The 1st season was best, 2nd...meh... 3rd, better than the 2nd.
Like everyone else... why is Ruth still living in a rundown trailer that is held up by car jacks :D
Wendy's brother is an uneeded distraction. Not interesting enough to add to the show.
Ruth's brother having sex with the old lady is beyond creepy.
But... once again, yes - it is impossible to miss the "super women" theme like so many shows that places women in power positions, and including even physically winning fights with a man that outweighs them by 100 lbs. Like Ruth pushing the guy in the river - yeah... if that 105 lb. girl pushed him - she would just fall backwards.

Good ole White Trash Ruth
Drives a new $50,000 truck and lives in a $1000 trailer on the lake.

At the end of season 2, I expected Wendy to emerge as the dominant player, and season 3 showed that they weren't quite ready to move her into the top spot. Her battles with Marty were the main tension of the season. There seems to be a lot of moving parts on the show- the Mexican subplot, the KC mob, the annoying brother and his romance with Ruth, and the WTF mashup of Darlene and Wyatt. While it seems a bit ambitious, I think it also requires some of the characters to be one dimensional. Frank Jr comes to mind.

Still, it was a fun ride, and I look forward to another season.

I don't like Frank Jr. character. The actor who plays him is not that good, and his dad wouldn't put him in charge of his biggest money making scheme if he was such a complete drunk moron.

Overall suggestion for Ozark Creators: I would LOVE to see Wendy and Marty in more appealing outfits! Wendy frequently looks unnecessarily frumpy (in all aspects of clothing - shoes, pants, tops). Marty needs more variety - how about mixing in khakis, jeans and/or some dress pants? And please reduce the number of plaid shirts he wears!! Throw in a golf shirt and some shorts occasionally, especially when it's summertime at the lake. His current "uniform" is getting on my nerves and has got to go!

What should Ruth wear?

I think they have other issues to be worried about.

Like......their lives.

Although I do wonder where and when she gets her nails done.

I think Ruth's wardrobe has been appropriate for her character. If I'm remembering correctly, her look hasn't involved too much repetition or a formulaic approach (like Marty's straight pants/plaid shirts).
