Oren Burks entered the Super Bowl as the #3 SF LB behind Warner and Greenlaw, meaning he played in 4-3 formations but not 4-2 nickel. When Greenlaw went down, Oren took over on all 3 downs and played a really excellent game, putting tight coverage on Kelce, getting at least 2 TFLs by my count, and the one tackle he "missed" he threw Valdez Scandling back 4 yards where he was tackled for a further loss. Oren got penetration and hit Pacheco in the backfield on a key short yardage stop.
OREN BURKS WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!!!
Oren is not just an NFL player. He is from Vandy and he has not just an undergrad degree, but also an MBA, all in 5 years while being a standout for Vandy football.
Oren refuted the theory of an inverse correlation between football and intelligence.
Well done. So close. What a great game!!!
All of what is left of Vanderbilt football appreciated Oren's stellar performance in the Super Bowl, including two former Vandy announcers...
