one nation, under god

ACTON (CBS) – The Pledge of Allegiance is becoming a sore subject in the Acton-Boxborough school district, all because of the words “under God.”

“Atheists and Humanists do not accept the notion of God,” says attorney David Niose.

An Acton family, who is atheist and chooses to remain anonymous, is suing the school district claiming they are discriminating against their children during the pledge. They want the words “under God” taken out

thoughts?

Their Kid's should not say the words if the words go against their conviction. That is all. Class Dismissed. :)

will it be frivolous if the catholic church takes obama to court?

because it's the same thing-religious freedom

Religious freedom is only guaranteed by the constitution outside of government operations.

And that is why the left is spending so much time and money trying to make everything under the sun a 'government operation', that's the key to everything isn't it? You take government money, you follow government rules, yet it's becoming almost impossible to get out from underneath it, they have their fingers in everything. It's out of control.

what on earth are you yammering about?

I'd like to think if a kid doesn't want to say the pledge, his fellow students do, his teacher does, wouldn't that lead to a pretty good chance the kid doesn't get equal treatment from students and from the teacher when grading comes around?

so the christians should counter sue, if "Under God" were taken out that could be perceived as the rights of Christians being discrininated against. How damn hard is it for someone to just skip letting the ghastly word "god" pass through their lips?

Not surprising that you wouldn't undersrtand, dear... go back to playing in traffic...

it was inserted during the cold war.

last time i checked, the cold war was over.

buh-bye

Words matter. Those words "under god" were placed there to divide us, and replaced "indivisible," which included everyone as a citizen and stakeholder, uniting everyone.

indivisible is still in the pledge.

Just out of curiosity... has anyone stopped to think how much it might actually cost to remove In God We Trust from all us currency currently in circulation...about to be circulated? To remake all plate, stamps, dies, etc.? Can't imagine it would be cheap.

yeah but think of the collectable value of the "God" money.

If a pledge were made that had an anti-god message, rather than a pro-god message, would you also make little mocking jokes and tell all the christian kids to just deal with it?

Or is your stance pure unfiltered hypocrisy?

How many people just do the same thing in their religious life. Just go thru the motions and it means nothing?
Peer pressure can cause many people to do many things.

LMAO.

Well that prayer obviously does not do any good.

Everyone bitches about congress.

funny coming from you.

Why don't you try something new and show some maturity?

again, funny from someone who says nothing except spews about the "evil left".

perhaps you should post something of merit?
there ya go!

You mean like you do?

I posted something of merit, you were the troll who had to act like she was in junior high and had to fling insults. My comment wasn't directed at you, it wasn't about you, it had nothing to do with you. Maybe you should say something more than spewing insults and act like an adult? Cause right now, you lecturing me on posting something of 'merit' is just a bit past ironic. :eusa_shhh:

 Maturity means the same old inferences without ever a smidgen of substance, dearrrrrr......

Aw, how cute, Jillian had to go get her little junior high clique to all come out and bully.
