Everyone talks about it so I got HBO

Went to on demand to start at the beginning only to see it starts at seas9n two.

Anyhow I start the first episode of season two and a midget in armor walks onto set and I nearly lose my drink from laughter. Then I see a 12 year old is king.....wtf kind of silly fantasy world is this?

Peter Dinklage is one of the best actors working today. Catch The Station Agent, damn good film.

You've got an Xbox, right Gramps?

Download the Xbox Live app "HBO GO". It's free if you already pay for HBO, and you can watch almost any HBO show, any episode, any time.

All of Game of Thrones is there, as well as all of the other great HBO shows like The Wire, Deadwood, Carnivale, The Sopranos, etc, etc etc.

A whole bunch of movies are available for streaming too.

ETA: All of Lucky Louie too. But I think Louie on FX is a better show.

i like the Louie on FX too....but i dont think it is anywhere near as funny as the HBO one...but then the HBO one is R rated ....they can get away with more .....

The problem with Lucky Louie was that it was still a classic 3-stage sitcom - studio audience, laugh track, and so on.

No matter how funny it was - and of course it was funny, Louis CK is (to me) the funniest living comedian - it still was limited by that old-school sitcom-ness.

Louie is a different animal entirely. He completely tore down the rules of a sitcom, and made something remarkable.

At least that's the way I see it.

I read the first couple books and never continued. I don't see it as a good TV show.

Game of Thrones is kind of losing it for me, same as Walking Dead.
The story-lines of both started out great...now they are terribly drawn out and getting to the point of just pure boring.

I've had that feeling a couple of times with TWD. Too much focus on side characters with too many plot lines. I have been watching Vikings and so far I like it. Not sure about GOT yet.

To me the series sold me at the end of the S1 finalie. A hot blonde chick walks into a funeral pyre, and emerges the next morning unharmed, buck naked, and with 3 baby fucking dragons. All she needs is a father who owns a comic book store and a beer distributor and she would be the greatest slacker-nerd girlfriend EVER.

yea so far Vikings is good.....

Ok, so I watched a few last night and had the afternoon off and watched a few more.

All the porn lite is absurd but the show is growing on me.

My favorite character is that clever girl with the sword who's father was beheaded. The midget is pretty cool as well as the dude on the Knights watch and the paralyzed boy and the woman who tried to rob him in the woods.

I can't stand the queen or that bastard son king of hers.

Oh, and the one the boy king calls dog is pretty cool too.

As the show progresses, there's less and less "porn lite".
