over the crummy August one.

It WON't be anything having to do with foreign affairs ie Iran/Israel..

Because Americans are fighting for the very survival here at home.

The ADP jobs report last Thursday indicates that BLS will probably revise the August numbers upward, and September will be a good month.

Since 2008 the United States has slipped from the No. 1 global competitor to #7.
But Wall Street is cooking the books fine - so no worries.

this is entirely possible.

And all those career statisticians and analysts at BLS will just keep theirs mouths shut. Are you really this paranoid?

You can do anything with statistics.

Excpet figure out "pi"

Except you can't. A mean is a mean and a mode is a mode and a median is a median. The statisticians aren't going to change the unemployment survey to make it look good for a political figure. BLS can't legally change the statistics without a public hearing.

You're another paranoid loon if you believe that the thousands of career professionals at BLS are going to cook the books for Obama. If they were going to do so, they would have done it for the August numbers, since ADP reported a much higher number than BLS.

The numbers are going to improve for September, with a probable upward revision from August. I don't base that on any tin foil conspiracy theory, but that the ADP numbers tend to lead the BLS numbers. ADP counts new hires by interviewing businesses, while BLS interviews individuals. So when ADP reports 201,000 new jobs and BLS reports 99,000 people finding work, you know they're lagging ADP.

All it means is that hundreds of thousands of people will give up completely and no longer be counted. It's a huge step in the wrong direction and not the good news the media will make it sound like.

You are right. How did 96,000 new jobs with over three hundred thousand new unemployment applications result in a .2 decline in the number of those who are unemployed? I don't buy the "x number of people have quit looking". You watch, when the next set of figures come out they will be below 8%, which tells me the Labor Department is cooking the books. The socialist Democrats will stop at nothing to keep power and get as many people dependent on government as they can!

What an idiotic analysis of people leaving the workforce. Yes, retirement is up. It's up for two reasons. First, the demographic bubble of boomers are entering retirement age. Second, many people who couldn't retire because their IRAs, Keoghs, and 401Ks tanked in 2008-2009, are now in a much better financial position to retire. I'm sure there's lots of kids who are moving back home, and moms deciding to stay at home, because the job market still sucks, but to ignore the boomer demographic is idiotic.

All of you are ignoring (again) - a basic fact.
FACT: The private sector in 2012 has produced 153,000 less jobs YTD than 2011.
Fact.
Forget the unemployment figure no matter what it does or does not contain.
We are flat out declining in job creation in the private sector - this is NOT GOOD.

Not true, those who were going to retire no longer chose to retire and those who have some of those went back to work
