I did respond! The aircraft carrier stunt was just that. A stunt.Sure....respond to what you want...
And ignore posts that prove you wrong...such as my response to your "GI Joe" post.
Now you want us all to ignore 11 years of history and suddenly believe that bin Laden was inconsequential! Why? Because a Democrat was the one who made the decision to loose the SEALS on him rather than a Republican!
No sir...you did not5 respond to my post regarding your calling the Lincoln issue a stunt.
You ignored it.
What you criticized..and thus called it a stunt...was not worthy of criticism.
It is quite apparent that you are not aware of what gear is necessary to fly in an S-3 Viking.....
He was not dressing up like GI Joe.....he was properly dressed to be a passenger in an S-3...there are protocols you must follow to ensure safety of the passanger...and safety of the plane...
I understand the logistics and the protective equipment needed to land a jet on a carrier. that is not the issue.I did respond! The aircraft carrier stunt was just that. A stunt.Sure....respond to what you want...

Landing on the carrier as POTUS, standing in front of a banner proclaiming "Mission Accomplished"~ that is the stunt! And a poor one at that considering the mission was far from accomplished.

1) You criticized what he was wearing. You can not wear a G-Suit under civilian clothes.
2) The mission of that CV group WAS completed and accomplished...thus why it was in port.
You seem to have your facts wrong.

It wasn't a stunt?
Why couldn't Bush have waited a day and met the carrier when it came into port?
Bush could not have changed his clothes or he chose not to change his clothes?
It wad a well contrived political photo op that Bush regretted the rest of his presidency

Why did Bush spend so little time in his speech congratulating the crew of the Lincoln and so much time saying combat missions had ended?
. Bush was criticized for the historic jet landing on the carrier as an overly theatrical and expensive stunt. For instance, they pointed to the fact that the carrier was well within range of Bush's helicopter, and that a jet landing was not needed.[4] Originally the White House had stated that the carrier was too far off the California coast for a helicopter landing and a jet would be needed to reach it. On the day of the speech, the Lincoln was only 30 miles (48*km) from shore but the administration still decided to go ahead with the jet landing. White House spokesman Ari Fleischer admitted that Bush "could have helicoptered, but the plan was already in place. Plus, he wanted to see a landing the way aviators see a landing."[5] The Lincoln made a scheduled stop in Pearl Harbor shortly before the speech, docked in San Diego after the speech, and returned to her home port in Everett, Washington on May 6, 2003.

How little you know.
All it took was for the ship to turn into the wind, grab that S3 with a tailhook landing and then turn into port. Landing on that ship instead of making them wait even longer for him at the pier is what prevented the families from waiting and watching the President being rung onto the ship and take hours shaking hands. That would have been Obama's style cuz the gutless little shit wouldn't have the balls to land using a tailhook and a cable.

Well...you have never put on a G-suit before...thats for sure.
Waited a day? So you can complain that he interferred with the loved ones who were there to hug their husbands and wives?
Yeah...I guess he could have.
You can tell when you are debating non military. They have no idea what an honor it is for the CiC to meet you on YOUR turf.
And an FYI....A CV group is a family....and they consider the flat top as an island...and the escorts as barrier islands...it is their own little world and very few visitors are allowed....but when the CiC...or an Admiral ask for permission to come aboard?
It is one fucking big deal to them.
Yet folks like you tend to want to make it political and take the thrill away.
Whatever.
I miss the military. Leaving was my biggest mistake....
I have no problem giving Obama his just credit for allowing Bin Laden to be taken out. I also give him credit for the current mess in the Middle East. The Islamic fundamentalists are now in charge of most countries there. Good job Obama.

Being in the military sometimes suck under any administration. I joined during Ford, got out under Carter, reuped under Reagan and retired under Clinton. Perhaps you're forgetting the disappointment involved with Democrat Administrations. I remember it clearly.
The Repugs built us up and the Dems tore us down. It's a constant neverending cycle.

Carter downsized because of the end of the VietNam war
Clinton downsized because of the end of the Cold War
What would a Republican President have done?
Obama's Involvement In Bin Laden Takedown Was Simply A Nod
"I can only speak with authority through Feb. 15, 2009," said Michael Hayden, who was George W. Bush's last CIA director. "But at that point, when people would ask 'When's the last time you really knew where he was?' my answer was Tora Bora in 2001."
.
Had Bush been the one, the GOP would still be screaming from the mountaintops, pounding their chest, shouting "Bush! Bush! USA! USA!". I'd love to see a denial of THAT. The President is like the quarterback; he gets the blame and the credit. Too bad.
.
His face would have been on Mount Rushmore. Look at the treatment Reagan gets from the right.
He was an unmitigated disaster as a President.
Reagan was a fantastic President; was precisely the right man at the right time.
