Obama would have accomplished much more if the right wing wouldn't have blocked every single one of his appointments for no reason other than to cripple the Administration. He would have accomplished much more if the Congressional republicans would have kept their word, both in agreeing to compromise, and by creating jobs, which is the platform they all ran on.

They ran on the jobs platform, but then went straight to cutting as much funding to the poor and middle classes as they could, while giving exorbitant tax gifts to the uber-rich.

Obama's going to win, not because of his level of success/failure, but because of the hot messes running for the GOP nomination. Because of the abysmal performance of Congress, the House will certainly go democratic, while the Senate is likely to be slightly republican.

In January/February of 2013 new tax laws will be passed that will add a great deal of money to the Treasury, and America will begin solid recovery.

Excuse me for pointing out the obvious, Grandman but the appointments that Obama has made haven't exactly been knocking it out of the park. You think having more Holders, Chu's, Summers and Geithners would have helped? Now THAT is amusing.

As for what the Republicans have cut? What are you even talking about? Harry Reid's sitting on everything they've passed in the House. The GOP hasn't been able to do squat. And they did not run on compromising with the Obama White House...they ran on putting the brakes on the Obama White House and were elected because the voters were so unhappy with what Harry, Nancy and Barack gave them.

The UE rate was 7.8% in January of 2009. It was 8.2% when the stimulus passed in February.

When Obama administration economists generate a report that shows with the stimulus that unemployment would peak under 8% and Obama uses that report generated by his administration to justify the stimulus bill, anyone who holds Obama accountable for that is "making a fool of" oneself. Pretty much a par score on your golf course where anything that doesn't justify socialism is rejected.

I do have two questions for you for my own humor.

Was Bush responsible for FEMA's performance in New Orleans?

The UE rate was 7.8% in January of 2009. It was 8.2% when the stimulus passed in February.

Arguing when you take the measurements is typical liberal deflection. If you want to argue the time period then you could have said that 8 point something was reasonable because of the delay. Clearly that the "stimulus" had no positive effect on unemployment as any fiscal conservative could have and did tell you. Government spending does not stimulate other then short term, like white sugar, because government doesn't produce anything. Production is what grows the economy and when government spends it takes money away from the producers. Reality is no friend of socialism, which is why you have to go to parsing and nits.

Are you "still" trying to pretend that when Christina Romer stood in front of the White House and told the American people that if the Obama Administration was given the stimulus they were asking for that unemployment would not go above 8%...and if they didn't get that stimulus that it would go over 9%...that she wasn't representing the White House? Show me where Barack Obama corrected her projections...other than months later when it was quite obvious that his economic team had first totally misjudged the severity of the problem and that their version of "stimulus" wasn't working very well.
