There was no need for an Ebola czar. The problem is not one of organization, which is what the czar function is for, to get various Federal agencies to work together and coordinate. Well, they did coordinate. The problem is one of policy. Policy which is obviously being set at the top.

Hospitals were not given protocols for handling suspected Ebola cases because the President himself said Ebola wouldn't come to America. His political appointees aren't going to publicly embarass him by sending out nationwide guidelines that contradict his pronouncement. So now we have sick health care workers and God knows how far this can spread.

To prove that the Ebola czar was all about appearances and not one whit about substantive policy, Obama picks a Democrat political hack.
