Obamacare Economy: 7 Years, 16 million Jobs Created, Middle Class Incomes Up $3K

After a wonderful day on the links, I've returned to more of the Dumb & Dumber show here at the US Message Board!

In order to make Barry's economic record look somewhat better than it was...Slim is now redoing the calendar...and Faun is lauding jobs created after the GOP took control of Congress away from Obama and the 2010 midterms elected GOP Governors throughout the country! Barry didn't create those jobs! They were created DESPITE him!
LOL

Do you ever stop lying, ya con tool?

Ever??

Earlier, you were talking down the job growth under Obama. After being shown what a moron you are for doing so, you switch to make the idiotic claim that Republicans

How can Republicans have anything to do with the job growth which began well before the 2010 election? Growth in the private sector began in March, 2010 -- 9 months before the election and almost a year before Republicans took control in 2011.

Just how fucking deranged are you to credit Republicans for job growth long before they took over??

giphy.gif

And where's your answer ... ? Why didn't Republicans do anything in response to Bush's warnings during all those years they controlled the Congress?

Don't fool yourself into believing no one notices how you're too scared to answer that.

I love how you Obama fluffers credit Barry with job creation...but when you're asked what Obama policy it was that created jobs...you can't come up with anything that he did to create jobs!

Obama gave us the ACA...which hurt job creation.

Obama proposed Cap & Trade legislation...which would have REALLY hurt job creation!

The Obama Stimulus spent nearly a trillion dollars yet created so few jobs that they resorted to hiding how many were created behind a made up number..."Jobs created or saved"!

Jobs were created, They were created in the energy sector because of fracking...something that Obama opposed...but then took credit for both the jobs that it created and the lower cost of energy it provided!
Aww, you poor, snowflake. Now you've gone from saying the jobs created were no big deal .... to saying the Republicans get the credit for them ... to speculating that Obama's policies couldn't have helped.

Do you ever stop lying, ya con tool?

Ever???

Face reality. Like it or not, just like Bush gets credit for adding 1 million jobs during his 8 years in office, Obama gets credit for adding 11 million during his.

You give him the credit...but you can't tell us his policies that created jobs?

Barry was good at taking credit for things that he had ZERO to do with...like the boom in oil and natural gas production that fracking created! In doing so however...what he did was underscore how ineffective HIS policies really were when it came to creating jobs.
Asked and answered.

As for why Republicans in Congress didn't do anything about the looming crisis in the housing market? Because they were afraid of being branded as racists by the media? Because it's politically hard to take away things that have been given to people...even though it's the right thing to do? The fact is...our government pressured lending institutions into making loans to people that didn't qualify for them under established banking norms. The housing bubble that collapsed and took the economy down was created because of that and Republicans in Congress are fully as guilty for that collapse as Democrats because they DIDN'T stand up and fight for what was prudent. Give Bush credit for doing something that few other Republicans were willing to do in Washington.
Republicans are afraid to lead???

Politicians get votes by giving people things. They lose them by taking things away...especially when in doing so they leave themselves wide open to accusations that they hate minorities or the poor. That goes for both parties.
So Republicans can't effectively lead and the results of their malfeasance caused the biggest economic meltdown in our country since the Great Depression.

It was the Clinton Administration that really "led" the push to pressure lending institutions into making loans to people that weren't even close to qualifying for them and the GOP members of Congress back then are culpable for what happened later on because they didn't do the hard thing then and say no to what was going on.

The difference between you and I, Faun...and it's a HUGE one...is that I hold Republicans at fault when they screw up...you blame EVERYTHING bad on Republicans and give the Democrats a pass. Claiming that only the GOP is responsible for the economic meltdown is so laughably partisan you can't possibly think anyone is going to take you seriously when you make such a claim.

it was pretty hard to stop obama from calling loan standards racist and demanding they allow people who can't afford to buy a home, to buy a home. esp one they couldn't afford. the inflated the housing market cause now people "qualified" for much more $ than they could repay based on factual historical standards, not some trunked up racist bullshit.

like he said and nailed you on - always the other side, our side is clean.

In response to Bush's repeated warnings, why didn't the Republican-led Congress do anything about it?

Because it is far easier to be a far left Progressive than a Conservative.

As seen by the events leading up to the mortgage/housing/financial meltdown, Here, starting with President Clinton the offer was that they were going to make more loans available to minorities by lowering the standards. Which, if you think about it, is pretty insulting to minorities in and by itself.

It goes on with Progressives offer more and more and easier and easier ways to borrow money. Loans made to people who have no decent credit ratings, a job history or experience being responsible for such a loan.

Then came the NO DOC loans where because people may have trouble verifying their income because much is in tips or cash, this would help minorities too.

So to argue that this was not promoting personal responsibility meant you were racist and how were these people to learn?

That then was the club used to beat Conservatives/Republicans into submission.
A good post, Markle. While I agree with all the Democrat efforts to use taxpayer dollars to back risky mortgage loans in a bleeding heart effort to allow low income families to buy a home, the Republicans aren't totally blameless.

IMO, this event which set up a spiral of housing speculation until the bubble popped in 2007 which contributed to the Great Recession, proves that no single President can wave a wand and either repair or destroy the US economy. Our economy is so large that it takes more than 8 years to see things play out. Therefore, blaming or praising a single President is misguided at best and deceptive at worst. Clinton didn't make the economy of the 90s nor did Bush the 2000s nor, as in this case, Obama after Bush. Many things were already in action. Add to this the fact the President isn't King, it literally takes an act of Congress to do anything. Obama's ACA wasn't Obama. It was a Democratic Congress that pushed it through (infamously passing it before reading it!) for the President to sign. Look at Trump's effort to repeal ACA. He's not King and cannot do it without Congressional approval.

Ergo, all this hype about how Obama is the greatest President ever and created millions of jobs, etc is just partisan bullshit. Our government is a lot more bureaucratic than any President can easily change as President Trump is finding out....and that's a good thing. The Founders were wise when they designed our government.

Community Reinvestment Act and the Housing Market Crisis of 2008 - Discover the Networks
Idiot.

Did the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) contribute to foreclosures and the financial crisis? And, is the CRA being reformed?

The Federal Reserve Board has found no connection between CRA and the subprime mortgage problems. In fact, the Board's analysis (102 KB PDF) found that nearly 60 percent of higher-priced loans went to middle- or higher-income borrowers or neighborhoods, which are not the focus of CRA activity. Additionally, about 20 percent of the higher-priced loans that were extended in low- or moderate-income areas, or to low- or moderate-income borrowers, were loans originated by lenders not covered by the CRA. Our analysis found that only six percent of all higher-priced loans were made by CRA-covered lenders to borrowers and neighborhoods targeted by the CRA. Further, our review of loan performance found that rates of serious mortgage delinquency are high in all neighborhood groups, not just in lower-income areas.

Correct. As much as the Democrats want to shred the Constitution, they can't. The 14th Amendment still applies. It also points out the bipartisan nature of Congressional legislation, which is why I don't hold only the Democrats for the eventual collapse of the housing market. The Democrats "feel" first and think later (see Nancy Pelosi's comments about passing the ACA), the Republicans used to put business and national defense first, but in the last 20+ years they've been leaning more towards a religious agenda.

The fact remains the housing debacle wasn't caused by a single President nor was it fixed by one. It's takes the efforts of all three branches of government to do good or bad things for the nation.

The party in charge is absolutely to blame. In this case, righties like to talk about how Bush kept warning Congress about the GSE's. But then they try to blame Democrats, who were not running the Congress, for not heeding his warnings.

Sorry, Republicans were running the whole show and they failed. Miserably.

You don't use statistics to show reality...you cherry pick them to hide reality! It's like your little buddy deciding to restructure the calendar so Barry's statistics don't look so bad!

Since the big push to give out loans to people who really didn't qualify for them came from the Clinton Administration...it's laughable for you to claim that the Democrats had no part in the eventual collapse of the housing market, Faun. But then again...that's you.
