Obama: "Tolly-Bon", "Pocky-ston"???

Whats with this dude trying to be overly.....whats the word.....academic, when he makes speeches and uses the politically correct way to pronounce words like that?

Hey Prez, you are in America. You dont have to say it like you are in Egypt, or the Columbia Univ professors lounge. Taliban will be fine. Pakistan too. "Tolly-bon", when combined with the rest of your plain American sounding language, sounds like you made such an effort to pronounce it differently....out of respect or something? For the "Tal-a-ban". Or "Pack-is-tan", not "Pocky-ston".

It is always a welcome sign when posters like you have to put up something like this thread. Shows that its "scrap bottom of the barrel" time.

Here's what you do. You listen to native speakers of a particular language say words. Then, you do your best to pronounce the words........especially when it comes to proper nouns......exactly the same way.

You make an attempt, asshole.

So how do you pronounce the capital of France?

obama needs to show us how worldly he is.

He's a citizen of the world doncha know.

He comes off as pretentious.

The NY Times pulled the article from their servers but an interview praised Obama for having a "first rate Arabic accent"

It's clear from his dialect to diet that Obama does not have anything in common with the average American

I guess he is just showing his respect to the Taliban. He can quote the Koran like nobody's business, too, and it's evident he is quite familiar with it. It's all about who you respect. Like he respected our military with the Marine 'corpse' comment. He's just smarter, ya know, and he impresses people in all 57 states.

He can pronounce the shit out of Pakistan but don't know enough about some of the most highly decorated members of the US military to keep him from pronouncing us as corpse-men. In fact, he read the 'prompter so well that day he said corpse-man three times.

Fuck that. I'll use whatever my native accent is to pronounce a word. You dont here foreign leaders trying to twist their natural accent to pronounce words to better please Americans.

Another one I hate that the lefties always do:

When they are talking in their normal accent, then the word "Latino" comes up, and they suddenly become Hispanic and emphasize a long "i" with a long "e" sound, like "Lateeeeeno". They sound like fucking idiots when they do that. Like bitch, just say it how you normally say it, we'll still get the point.

Damn, thats a great point. He can tell you how a dirt farmer in Bora Bora pronounces Taliban as "Tolly-bon", and Pakistan "Pocky-Ston", but he calls a military person "corpse" man. Fucking embarrassment to our country.

And Bodeaca, yes, it's absolutely bottom of the barrel time. We've been here since January of 2009 when our country scraped this guy off the bottom to run this nation.

You're confirming my point. Americans dont pronouce it that way.

Only left wing fucking idiots take the time to know, or care, how a goat and dirt farmer in a cave would say it.
